If either MS or Sony wanted to gain more owners of their systems all they had to do was add support for motion controls that have been around for years, mouse and keyboard support. A mouse is a motion controller!! I just find it funny how they are pushing these new technologies which are very risky and pricey when they could do something as simple as announcing kb/m support and would have gained many, many new gamers who are afraid of console gaming because of the lack of that support. Thoughts?

If they had KB/M support, it wouldn't be fair on the console gamers, at all.

I don't want KB/M on my console games....why don't I just go to PC gaming if that was the case?

Just look at it as another way of playing the game, that is exactly what Move and Kinect are, other ways of playing the same game. If you dont want to use kb/m then don't, but why limit the ways to play? Just seems odd.

The PS3 does have KB/M support, its just that dev's choose not to use it. You can use a keyboard for text anytime the VK comes up... I use one in WKC all the time to post on Geonet.

The only game I can think of right now that takes advantage of full use of KB/M on the PS3 is Unreal Tournament 3.

I know that you can use it to type and surf the internet, I do that with mine. I am just saying that these new technologies (Move and Kinect) are being sold to gain more of a user base of another type of gamer. Pretty big gamble whether or not people are going to buy these things, why not gain the PC crowd by adding kb/m support for games? I guarantee alot of PC gamers dont game on consoles due to the fact they have to use a gamepad. This whole motion control thing just seems like follow the leader just like 3D, why not give gamers what they want?

It's tracking the movement of my hand, how is that not considered a motion controller?

Interesting argument. You can use a controller on the PC. If thats the case, why did you even bother to get a 360 in the first place when the PC has both controllers and KB/M?

It detects motion on a 2D plane, otherwise you need modifiers like keyboard commands for an alternate axis. This is why the mouse is so good for games with aiming, pointing, or more importantly games in the first person - because it emulates natural accurate movement, particularly head movement much better than a joystick, thumb stick or remote pointer (e.g. Wiimote).

i would love to see more KB and mouse support on PS3 games but consoles are not suited for them. i would imagine the majority of console gamers play on a TV sitting on a sofa or somet similar. i doubt there are to many people who play there PS3/360 sat at a desk in front of a monitor.

using that logic the PS3 and 360 controllers are also motion controllers because the analog sticks track the movement of your thumbs

You got me there :P To be honest it's just personal preference, I've always favoured console gaming. I know the appeal of PC gaming (i've played various games on it sporadically).
