Logitech_G19_Gaming_Keyboard_Elegant_Bla

vs

Buy_Xbox_360_Wireless_Controller_Matte_B

Using_a_PS3_Controller_on_Windows_7.jpg

Is it universally agreed that the Keyboard and Mouse are better for FPS, TPS, RPGs, Strategy, and MMO games or not?

Which is more comfortable?

You decide.

Gamepads are more comfortable, but some genres are better played with KB+M - RTS, FPS and TPS, namely - the same way some genres are better played with a gamepad - Fighting games, platformers, action games.

Good thing about PC is you have the option of both. K+M is better for 85% of games, but some like Assassins Creed are better played on a gamepad.

KB/M is better for most games but extended hours of play make my wrists start to hurt. Luckily I have the option to switch between the two. For instance when I play Skyrim for long periods of time I just use a gamepad (Logitech F510) since the extra precision from KB/M isn't really needed.

Controllers are better for fighters, sports, hack and slash/beat em up (Batman/DMC-style games), and racing games. KB/M for everything else

I have a wrist pad for my mousepad and my keyboard already. Before I had those I could literally only play for an hour or 2 before my wrists would cramp up so much that I would have to stop. Its not as much of a problem now but when I'm constantly turning through narros hallways in the dungeons in Skyrim it will get to me after awhile so I just use a gamepad.

I don't have any problems when I play FPS games though

I can deal with KB+M for almost any game I pick up on the PC.

But luckily being the flexible platform it is, if I don't like a particular Binding, or I can't find a comfort zone with KD+M, I can simply plop down 20 or bucks for a controller if I'm feeling cheap, or 40-60 for higher end or 360/PS3 controllers to bind.

I think its partially because the keyboard tray that is supposed to be underneath my desk broke off so I just have the KB/M sitting on the main part of the desk. It is pretty high up and I think having it raised up more puts more pressure on my wrist. I've been looking at buying a new desk soon and I really hope that will fix the problem.

for me kb/m for almost everything, except dual stick style shooters or technical platform games. Generally you're never going to top the kb/m though.

Comfort? Gamepad. But I still prefer KB&M for most games games except 3rd person action or platforming games like Batman, Prince of Persia, stuff like that.

I guess racing and fighting games as well, but I don't play those.

The exact same KB&Mouse as i have (G19 and G5) love them, best things ever and all that.

Controllers are great for some genres but generally KB&Mouse wins.

There's no possible way you play multiplayer with those unless you get destroyed a lot.

Nope, I do pretty well with my Razer Onza in Crysis 2, Blacklight Retribution, BFBC2, etc etc, I use my Hydra for TF2 and some other games I find it funner to use sometimes.

I'm sure you probably do better with KB+M. Also isnt the Onza basically a 360 controller

Depends on the game, can't kill sh!t in Crysis 2 with a mouse and keyboard (although its because I don't have any gaming mice with extra buttons). I do a lot of couch gaming so I use my Hydra and Onza a lot now. The F310 is really now nothing more but an extra controller for when people come over and want to play with me.

Onza is a 360 controller but a lot better than a normal one. You have 2 extra buttons that you map to anything but the dpad, and since I have the Tournament Edition one, I can turn my analogs clockwise/counterclockwise to adjust the tensions. Think of it as a second setting for sensitivity. In BFBC2, I make the tension a bit hard so I can snipe more steadily. when I'm playing as a assault or some class with a short range weapon I immediately twist the analogs back to normal.

Keyboard and Mouse is pretty darn cool when playing on the PC. You just need to know all the buttons first.

Gamepad Gaming though isn't that bad either. Interesting Experiments you can do with the Gamecube Controller.
