I believe!
You know, I've only just noticed they gave Sora a new proper outfit. lol
Also, notice how overtime his necklace chain thingy gets smaller and smaller by comparison to his own body. Clever and simply way to show Sora has grown over time.
I think the series is pretty good at being cleverly simple or simply clever or something. Anyway, that was greatly nostalgic for me.
It looks like Kingdom Hearts 2 but with better graphics. After 10 years, you'd expect more innovation
Yeah...kind of like Uncharted 4, it looks just like Uncharted 2 but with better graphics.
@Zassimick My biggest issues are the spinoffs, if i play the main 2 games would i be ready for 3? because honestly i have no intentions to check all the spinoffs in other platforms.
@madsnakehhh: It's hard to say. Re: Chain of Memories you can skip since you already have played KH & KH2. 358/2 Days is a wonderful story that's stuffed full of monotony in the middle of the game, but it's touching seeing Roxas with Axel and Xion. It's sad and worthy of a playthrough if you have a DS but I think you could skip the story, though you'll be missing out on character development.
Re: Coded you can pass on, and I'd say the same thing with Dream Drop Distance. 3D sets the stage after KH2 well, establishing the main villain for Sora and Riku, and the gameplay is fun but you may be better off passing on it if you have a big backlog.
Birth by Sleep is an absolute must to play though. There's a lot of new information and characters, great gameplay, and it reveals the main villain's plot extremely well. After BbS I am a huge fan of Master Xehanort. Plus, the story is amazing. Should not be missed.
If you don't have the time though and you just want to get caught up on the story before KH3, there are some great videos that detail out the plot. My original post has a Gametrailers feature that goes in-depth on all the games that you should check out if you're interested but don't have the time/money/consoles to play all the games. ^_^
@madsnakehhh:
You can do just fine with KH1 and KH2. Much is implied in those 2 that you can kinda get the gist of it by yourself.
HOWEVER. If you can, play the collections on the PS3, in particular (and by this story order): BbS->KH 1 -> KH 2. Afterwards, if you want/like the series you should play KH3D on the 3DS (which bridges KH2 to KH3). Both these spin-offs, besides being important to the story are great games on their own merit.
But like I said, KH1 and KH2 will suffice if you don't want to got the long way. KH2 did a very good job of making sure players caught up on KH1 through story means (they used a character from KH2 to ease players into the game basically). I'm assuming they'll do something similar in KH3 considering 2 important spin-offs came out since then.

Looking forward to seeing some more stuff shown. I haven't really followed Disney Infinity, and Star Wars Battlefront seems like it's had a steady stream of information coming. Of course, I'm most excited for more news on Kingdom Hearts 3.
So whaddya think? Square Enix has been exciting the fans lately with DQ11, FFXV (coming 2016), and other great things that leave the impression of a return to form. Looking forward to seeing what comes out of this expo? Speculation on any specific news?
Online multiplayer oh heck naw. That better not happened
We actually aren't sure how online will be utilized yet. And it shouldn't have an impact on the main story if it happens. Could just be leaderboards, boss rush mode, competitive, who knows? Maybe we'll find out today (doubt it).
EDIT: Actually, the only thing shown at the D23 expo was the reveal of a new world: Big Hero 6. I love the movie and that's cool, but could have done with a wee bit more info. Oh well. It is what it is.
I gave up on KH after 2 because I literally don't even know wtf is going on in that story. Like I have no idea why I'm killing shit, who the bad guy or good guys are. All I know is that I got some square characters and some disney characters and we are kicking ass lol.

Isn't that all you need though? ;p

I think so. :P
But seriously, the story is wack. I enjoy it a ton but I completely understand the people who wouldn't care for it.
But @II_Seraphim_II, it's nice to have someone break it down to help with understanding or to just tell me stuff I might have missed. Gametrailers did a wonderful job of that. So if you're wanting to prepare for KH3's story whether you've played all of the entries in the series or not a single one, you can find some terrific resources in the OP that should help you out.
