On being asked how difficult or easy it was to run the game at 60 FPS at 1080p, the duo replied: Technically we are running at 720p and 60 FPS

[QUOTE="clyde46"]So the only game that *can* do 60FPS and 1080p is Killzone SF and its only the MP side. Dam these consoles suck. Zero5000XIsn't Forza 5 1080p@60fps?
After what's been happening with Titanfall, KI and Dead Rising, I think what you saw were all bullshots.
I expect sub-1080p or some graphical downgrades from what we saw at E3.

That's not a locked down 60fps either
I think the real issue is with next gen engines. Most developers haven't had the time to actually craft a next gen engine. Hell, even KZ:SF is being rendered in a modified KZ3 engine. Certain part of the engine like the lighting system have been redone but the vast majority of it hasn't been completely redone, simple re-written and beefed up for the PS4. It takes a really long time to create a solid new engine for a new platform. Nonstop-Madness
But KZ: SF is running at 1080p/60 FPS while having better graphics and tons of particle effects. KI is a f*cking fighting game for god's sake. You have a small background hat you don't interact with, 2 characters and their animations. How much processing power would be required to make it at 1080p/60 FPS?
I know the laws of diminishing returns in regards of TF, but I didn't think the difference would be this big.

it probably has more t do with he dev's... not the hardware. And its probably slightly more difficult to program on XBOX because of the added managed sram. Especially since forza 5 is already runing at 60fps at 1080p.Killzone is 60 fps and 1080p? link?TheGuardian03

MP will be attempting to hit 60fps but not constant.

It's from 40-60. I don't see it dropping below 30.

No theres this shooter, Resogun or something its called, looks like a PS1 game and pushes the ps4 to its limit at 60fps 1080p.[QUOTE="clyde46"]So the only game that *can* do 60FPS and 1080p is Killzone SF and its only the MP side. Dam these consoles suck. pelvist
Resogun is actually doing some really interesting physics based stuff; the physics are insane. These aren't just particles effects or sprites but actually tiny little cubes that are interacting with each other.

The character models might not be impressive, but the tech behind that game is. There are around 200,000 cubes all interacting with each other. You'd need some serious computing power to handle all those physics calculations. Combine that with the crapton of particle effects and the game is truly something to brag about.
Oh yeah, and the game isn't even optimized yet. The PS4 looks to be an amazing console next gen.
So they are not sacrificing the 60 fps. Good. They once again prove they know how to make a fighting game.
I don't understand why this is such "huge ownage" Cerny himself stated it will take multiple years to extract power, this is the same of any new console... It's not like KI is that visually impressive, clearly it's NOT a hardware limitation, rather a hardware implementation issue, like BF4 looking mediocre on the PS4. To give another example, Watch Dogs, looks the same on both next gen consoles, is more visually impressive than KI and it's probably because of Ubi. Personally, the ownage is on the SONY trolls yet again for being such tools. So they are not sacrificing the 60 fps. Good. They once again prove they know how to make a fighting game.

QUIKnEZ
For the PS4, NOT for the Xbox ONE.
Cerny added in tons of ACEs to the last 4 CUs of the PS4's GPU as incentives for devs to use GPGPU processing without taking a graphical hit to the games. There is no such modification on the Xbox ONE's side. In fact, most of the modification on the Xbox ONE's hardware are bandaid solutions to the DDR3 RAM. The Xbox ONE will hit its cap much earlier than the PS4.
Furthermore, there is no proof that Watch Dogs looks the same on both next-gen consoles. Ubisoft have only shown the PS4 version. Same with every single multiplat (With the exception of CoD: Ghosts, which look like ass).

Hahaha, you're talking so much sh$$. I'll take Carmack's and Ubi's head software director's opinion over another forum troll. Google it my friend, there's even talk about the X1's version having some superior features. Eitherway, the visual fidelity will be minor I exist at all. 3rd parties can play the middle line and do what's best for their bottom lines. Brainless sheep like yourselves can keep believing what you want to hear.
As for me, I'll let the games do the talking. Enjoy your sub-1080p, corridor games with no dynamic lighing, no particle effects, no global illumination.
How the hell can they not nail 1080p at 60 in a fighting game that looks almost entirely like a slightly upgraded street fighter 4, lol.

Well, I predicted that the Xbox ONE's GPU is worse than the vanilla AMD 7770. Looks like I was right.

Like I said, they probably don't have the team or the time to rebuild the core rendering component of the engine. Whoa, someone who is rational! ***** post!
But The Crew was ported by 2...2 people.
Maybe it's because the Xbox ONE is weak. Stop being a fanboy. Time to drink your denial medicine.

Anyone wanna know a lil factoid? I have a colleague who made a game as a part of a small team. He's a pretty interesting character, and he managed to make the only game on current gen that runs at 1080p 60fps. It's called Retrograde Shooter, a PS3 title that just recently got brought over to PC. If anyone wants to see 1080p @60 fps on current gen, go check it out.

I'm not a fanboy. I preordered a PS4 and shit like this solidifies my belief that I made the right purchase. You have to be an idiot to even consider buying the Xbox ONE and it is in my right to deride those who do buy one. I don't care what you hippy trash say about bullying. Bullying makes people stronger and I consider myself a saint for mentally torturing lemmings.
So, while I'll be playing open-world games with a shitton of next-gen effects and with better graphics than linear games on the Xbox ONE, Xboners will be busy playing corridor games with last-gen graphics and with last-gen effects.
Wow, what the fvck did I just read? You may need some help

It also took them 6 months to do it. Like I said, they probably didn't have the time and/or the team to do it in time for launch. Not to mention engines vary so there is no way to determine how easy the engine would be to port. Double Helix also uses there own engine, not some robust scalable engine that Ubisoft is probably using. Please Log In to post.
