Well, it's still to early to talk about gameplay mechanics as Killzone 2 seems to be hiding a whole lot, but the shooting looks fun and the weapons look fun to use. IMO, the weapons look "right".. this feeling is hard to capture with the amount of FPS in the market nowadays, which is why KZ2 attracted me.

This statement I will completely agree with, gun models look... just... real?

I think it's going to be a solid shooter that won't blow anyone's minds.

And, Resistance 2's predecessor wasn't one of the biggest flops of all time. I have a PS3, and don't understand the MGS4 and KZ2 hype. KZ1 was an epic flop, and the MGS series has always been a nitche series. Why Cows are latching on to these and not talking about better system-sellers is beyond me.

Right, I primarily game on PC so I'll be hopeuflly unbiased, but KZ2 gameplay graphics I've seen it looks incredibly dull and boring to be wuite frank. The gameplay might be fine, but the graphics are so grey and horrible, I mean, its worse than Quake, at least Quake had browns, as did gears. It is all fuzzy, and although the weapons look nice I think the rest looks mediocre.

THe floor looks ntextured and unfinished, as do many of the walls.

It's weird how so many people can be happy with this graphics. Even Medieval 2, a game thats nearly 2 years old, beats this to be honest.

Also I think Gears 2 looks more interesting in gameplay than KZ2. THe cover mechanic is great.

Watch any of the gameplay footage of Killzone 2 and tell me when how many times he is actually shot, the game is going to suck.

Both of these shots look very good. Both games have great graphics. The way I seperate the two is Gears of war was an AWESOME game. Killzone sucked so I'm more excited to play Gears 2. Killzone has ALOT to prove to me then a graphical upgrade.

Graphics: Check

Gameplay: Check

Killzone 2

Graphics: Check

Gameplay: ...Unknown, KZ2 has a lot to prove so don't get all hyped about it. Judging from the previews it seems that is doesn't really do anything more than COD4 in terms of gameplay Which isn't a bad thing - but for the most expensive game ever developed you would expect that it would.

let's see here, the sequel to the 2006 game of the year or the sequel to one of the biggest flops in recent memory.....

HAHAHA, sorry it doesn't. I know this is only an opinion and I know those who have different opinions will call me a fanboy even though I own all three home consoles, but Killzone 2 has not shown me anything impressive gameplay wise. The graphics are outstanding (not the design but the graphics), but the only gameplay we've seen has been mediocre run and gun.

I know that Gears of War 2 will deliver gameplay wise because the first one did to a large extent, but Killzone 1 did not deliver and if I'm basing gameplay on what we've seen so far (which seems harsh since we have not seen all the game has to offer but many of you are doing this so I will too) its been pretty standard. There isn't anything I've seen in Killzone 2 that I could not do in Gears or Rainbow Six Vegas or Halo, in fact those other games have more gameplay elements than what I've seen from Killzone 2. Gears had executions, chainsaws, vehicles, etc. along with shooting and cover...which is all I've seen from Killzone 2. What a silly topic.
