Killzone 2 Sniping gameplay!

Looks awesome, love the weight of the game, like your playing a movie than a game, thanks to the top animations/lighting, insane recoil and just gun movement, etc. Can't wait.

That map looks like a lot of fun. The other map I saw looks cool as well.

Early beta build.

The guns and player have perfect weight to them. If you watch some SP videos and imagine the enemy animations translated into MP... It will be immensely visceral and satisfying. The core shooting mechanics look crazy :D!

I think you just basically described what Lems will do if Gears 2 scored 8.5 ;).

Side Note: I've NEVER seen a game with such a distinct and stylized sense of perception, weight, and animation. Now we have to see how the Badge system works out :). There was a squad invite in the vid as well. That feature will be very helpful for clans (which are also supported with in game clan tournaments!).

lol you shoot someone and they react like 3 seconds later....if a person instantly get's killed they dont fall untill like 3 seconds later..its like delayed deaths lol.hahawatyo

The current KZ2 beta is private and has been going on since May 2008. This is an old build. So from May 2008 to February 2009 gives GG 9 MONTHS.

There will be a public beta later this year. I'm sure we will see some significant improvements (bugs fixes, delayed enemy death animation fixes, and better graphics).

I ask everyone to take a look at some of the SP vids for KZ2. When they implement the variety of the hit response system and level of graphical quality into MP, it will be truly satisfying. Seriously... as a fan of shooters I'm absolutely mesmerized by KZ2 just like I am Gears 2.

No its cool, we all got different tastes. I never got much out of the first one, and don't see much personally out of this one, but whatever.

I understand :). But the first one will seem like poo in comparison to KZ2. I admit, KZ1 wasn't all that great. Great weapons, cool enemies, great graphics, cool premise, but it was broken.

What makes shooters great: Weapons, satisfying and visceral shooting, atmosphere, sense of presence, and tight controls. Just from observing the videos it's hard not to tell that KZ2 embodies those qualities. But that's just the core.

Instead of only looking at vids, more shooter fans should read into what KZ2 offers. It's incredible actually. Not completely innovative (then again how many shooters are?). Some great ideas and unique twists to old ideas are being implemented.

As far as "Halo Killer"... This myth has been busted time and time again. It was started by some European journalist who first laid eyes on KZ1. Later cows and lemmings both took it and ran with it.

Cows in general have never called KZ2 a "Halo Killer". When it comes to graphics they definitely call it a Gears of War 2 and Halo killer in that respect.

But how can you say it won't be graphics king? Nothing special at all? It looks absolutely incredible :). By the time it comes out I think it will have noticable advantages over Gears 2 (and it already does). Textures are KZ2's only weakpoint right now. But that's definitely not the only thing to judge games on.

KZ2 is one of those rare console games that excels in every category (save super hi-res textures), and greatly highlights graphical aspects/categories that we normally don't pay attention to (or haven't been emphasized by most devs this gen).

Graphics king is RE5 BTW right now ;). But we have to wait and see if KZ2 will be graphics king or not. You claim it will not as if it's fact :?...

P.S. I advise Lems and KZ2 doubters not to fall into the same footsteps as Cows did with Halo 3 (graphics) by getting owned. I know we all know just how awful Halo 3's textures were during and before the beta. Just 3-4 months later the game's textures came out and stunned everyone!

Well typically open betas are just for network really, although some polish can be applied afterward (see halo 3 or the prerelease fable)

But it's almost in it's final state, not totally though.

Of course its gonna get 8.5 all shooters(what include a multiplayer) are pretty generic these days since they focus more on multiplayer than the real game

All shooters get a 8.5, including gears 2 They might be fun ...but they arn't really anything special
