And they said they are kicking themselves for not adding co-op.
While it may seem obvious to some of us, Sony developer Guerrilla Games is now rumored to be hard at work on a sequel to Killzone 2 for the PlayStation 3. GossipGamers ran a speculative piece which purports to have insider information by way of two Dutch gaming sites.
Apparently one of the Guerrilla developers mentioned Killzone 3 after a small gaming event held in Amsterdam. Another Dutch gaming site went on to report that, when probed about the possibility of a Killzone 2 co-op patch, "someone close" to Guerrilla said the following:
"They [Guerrilla Games] are really kicking themselves because of that. They have a handful of developers working on updates, and patches for Killzone 2, but I doubt we'll see co-op patch.
The problem is the seamless loading. Cross console synching seems to be an issue - but from what I gather the key developers of Killzone 2 are working on a new project."
From here the source couldn't definitively confirm that Killzone 3 was actually in the works, but they said "we suspect that Guerrilla Games is indeed working on Killzone 3."
