[QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"]Killzone 2 is the most generic pos shooter I've played this generation. (single player wise) and imo... Seriously I would rather take Far Cry 2 then this game (which held this title by me until I played this). mr-krinkles
Its single player was indeed generic, I agree with you on that, but it was still fun and some levels in particular was just flat out awesome (The Bridge, getting into Visari's Palace, using the Mech). Another thing people often forget about Killzone 2's SP is how great the enemy AI was which made it incredibly challenging (on Hard and the unlockable difficulty). Honestly, I've played loads of FPS's in my time, and also lean towards FPS's on the PC, but Killzone 2's AI is hands down the best enemy AI I've ever encountered in any game - which is saying a lot. You have to really earn your kills; it's not like mowing them all down like nobody's business as in most FPS's. Makes it all the more rewarding.
Now that the SP's out of the way, the MP is anything but generic. It borrows heavily from Team Fortress 2 with its classes, but Killzone's MP is entirely its own experience - insanely chaotic. I think it kicks ass and it's the reason KZ2 is among my favourites from this gen. I play KZ2 for its MP, not the SP. I know you generally hate the game though. Fair enough, it's not for everybody, but maybe you should give the MP some more time and it might grow on you.
I loved the singleplayer bc I like the gunplay, the feeling of weight, the cover system, enemy ai was top notch, and the game had some incredible setpieces like the bridge, visari square, radec academy, the charge up to the palace, and the final battle over wave after wave. You really have to earn every inch of ground and use cover well on the higher difficulty levels.
