It seems that no company wants to give the consumers some actual meat on the Single player mode anymore. Its all over in 5 hrs these days. What is si hard about having a campaign last 10-15 hrs? BTW, I'll never play Killzone 3 (becasue I don;'t have a PS3), so would someone whohas compleeted the game give me the details about the story? (prefer a PM thank you)

gone are the days where people replay their games...campzor
I replay my games on easy-hard, hell, I did Killzone 2 on Elite.

7 hours is a good length for an FPS campaign. its not too short or too long

arbitor365
10 hours is better, even Killzone 1 is longer I think.

I think Bulletstorm. Or Portal, if you count Portal as a shooter.

Bulletstorm has multiplayer, though it isn't near the focus, as does Portal 2 (which I consider to be a puzzle/ shooter hybrid; more puzzle than shooter though.)

I also finished the game in about 6-7 hours on trooper :) The gameplay is truly stellar, excellent gun mechanics, AI, gfx and audio. I thought the story was "so so", and I can understand how some reviewers complain about it. To me, the way it was told, felt kind of rushed, "all over the place", and sometimes just didn't make any sense at all, though there were indeed some moments that stood out along with several epic scenes. The dialouge felt like the usual cheese mess that plague the current gen FPS's. All in all I would say an 8.5-9.0 score. Though that might increase later when I'll have time to get into the MP bit some more.

Still, one of the best FPS'es I've played this gen without a doubt

I considered waiting for this one but first party published titles generally take a considerable amount of time longer to drop in price, so I picked it up alongside Bulletstorm, I've been too caught up in Bulletstorm to give this a try right now, but when I take a break from that I'll be playing KZ3, probably sometime this weekend. If it is indeed that short, I hope it's at least really fun. Anyhow, my PS3 needed some love, I only get PS3 exclusives since I get all my multiplatform titles on the Xbox 360.

I just finished playing it a few hours ago and it only took me a little over 6 hours to complete. I was even playing it on Veteran (Hard). While I did enjoy it, it kind of expected it to be a longer time investment.

BPoole96

Thats plenty of hours for me on any shooter ive ever played. After about 2hrs im HOPING every cutscene is an ending scene. "shoot,kill,grenade,die,washNrepeat"...4hrs is long enough for any shooter to me..As for KZ3, its awesome so far and its too bad that there are millions of fanboys of other consoles out there, that will never play it..Its under rated and quite intense.

i never buy my games full price, i just wait till that price drops but it has multiplayer which is what you kiddies these days love so yeah thats why the campaign is short but 6-7 hours sounds reasonable to me.

Chris_Williams

Same here. There are deals everywhere to get games cheaper. I don't enjoy paying $50-$60 for a six hour game. But it seems like multiplay drives sales for early adopters. Oh well.

So $10 a hour. The funny part is as short as the game is it is also supposed to have like 70 minutes of cutscenes so there is only around 5 hours of gameplay. It sounds like this game is a rental.

So many people complain about length of games. Back in the NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, you would pay $50 or more for a game that could be beat in under 4 hours. Now most down loadable games that sell for $9.99 or longer than that.

Would you rather a game have a ton of unnecessary levels added just to make you grind through them to make the game longer? Do you have fun playing games that make you backtrack a ton just to extend the length of playtime? A 5 hour movie isn't necessarily better than a 2 hour movie and a 15 hour campaign isn't automatically going to be better that a 6 hour campaign.

If anything gamers were being ripped off 15 and 10 years ago. The price for gaming hasn't change much, but what has is the amount of content you get for every dollar.

CajunShooter

I feel the same way. A shorter game is okay if the game feels complete when it's done. KZ3 didn't feel like there was a bunch of missing segments, so I have no problem with the length. The story was fine at first, though a little disjointed. Towards the end it got a little wackadoo. The gameplay being as awesome as it is made that transgression feel slight though.

I can't stand padding in games, especially when they aren't even hiding the fact that it is padding, like lots of backtracking and such. Bugs the crap outta me, and those are usually the games I don't finish.

Even though it is longer than other popular shooters recently, (Black ops little over 4 hrs & Medal Of Honor less than 4 hrs), I still must say it is downright pathetic!!! It's really getting annoying to constantly see that devs are incapable of making a shooter's campaign even kinda long. I mean the average length of a shooter last gen was 8 hrs & here we are years later and we get bs like this.

I disagree. Were paying top dollar for the game they should be able to deliver at the very least an 8 hour long campaign.

The further we get into this gen's life cycle the worse the devs seem to get & to make things worse I see more & more of my fellow gamers saying that this is OK. Do what? Hell no it ain't OK, what the helll are you thinking dude!!!

Eh I have the mindframe that some games are just not meant to be 10-20 hours affair. If anything it could end up hurting the game and make it feel like its dragging its feet.

All games should be at least 8 to 10 hrs long. It wouldn't hurt the game at all if it is just balanced correctly, the only thing that's gonna hurt the game is half ass efforts by devs.

It took me a little udner 9 hours to beat Killzone 2 on Hard. A good hour of that was probably spent on the last fight with Radec

Now the only question left is, how long did it take you to beat it on elite? :P

I, and most other people, bought KZ3 for the multiplayer. The campaign is still enjoyable, and in my opinion a FPS campaign should never be incredibly long because it will get boring; point and shoot against randomly spawned groups of A.I. with the occasional twist gets old after a while.

Why? FPS these days are pretty much bought and sold based on multiplayer. I admit to not being that big a FPS fan, but I do play them on occassion single player and I start to get bored if the game is any longer than 6 hours. FPS are driven by action, and fairly repetitive action at that. That is why a lot of FPS's these days have so many "events" happening within them...it keeps the game interesting. Nobody wants to play an FPS where all you do is walk around a field/hallway shooting enemy soldiers for 20 straight hours with no real story.

Yes.

You know the only way to play the game is to pirate it right? So your saying you illegally downloaded the game. Because as far as I know it's not march 22nd yet.
