Killzone 3's water is.....

atrocious! No game can be console graphics king with water like that and it looks even worse in motion...the water falls look horrible in the so called "jungle" level and the ocean looks horrible as well....there are lots of letdowns graphic wise with KZ3

Console graphics are terrible in general. This is not new.

Uncharted 3 is shaping up to put everything to shame anyways. So KZ3 wouldn't have had the console graphic king crown for long anyways, if it actually WAS the graphic king.

You forgot to mention the horrible textures. SAGE_OF_FIRE

I wouldn't say terrible....RDR, U2, Gears 2, RE5 all look very impressive for console games

It seems like the rule for killzone 3 is you are not allowed to say anything good about it.

On the frozen level the ocean/waves do look pretty bad. They failed on the waves. Stagnant water looked just fine though.

As far as those huge waves, I can't think of a game that animates that particularly well or has actual physics for humongous surf, can't really even think of many games that have even gone for that. Only games I can think of for "water" are Wave Race for gamecube that had amazing water effects (for it's gen). Uncharted also has incredible water effects on those river levels.

From the demo I played, I thought the water effects were one of the best, there were some stupid moments but I really liked the animations and the shapes of the waves when they hit ice bergs .... it was cool.

I wasn't impressed with the water effects.
Although in the forest you had some good looking water.

On a more serious note, yes the water in Killzone 3 is very average looking.

But the textures, post-processing, deferred lighting, mapping, shaders, explosions are all second to none amongst console games.

The best looking games on consoles goes like so.

Killzone 3 > God of War 3 > Uncharted 2 > Killzone 2 > Crysis 2 > Heavy Rain > Alan Wake > MGS4 > Resident Evil 5 > and so on.

RDR and Gears 2 seriously don't belong on that list... :?

also KZ3 has lots of flaws...I was way more impressed with KZ2 than I am with KZ3....and you are exaggerating the whole KZ3 makes other games look last gen because it doesn't

because as you can see by ppl in this thread they are calling it the BEST looking game on consoles...not one of the best like the IGN review says but THE best

wow show your colour LAME every single site review the game didn't say but the best of the best in gfx on consoles and multiplatforum if its look better that a very little to notice and not all of them like you claim it's not like what happen with FF13 or RDR they are almost the same in the multiplatforum but since you find the 360 version looks a little bit sharper dose make your 360 is the better system as the last hope as 360 lame then ok TCshadi2020
