Killzone is bad. Why do people like it?

Also Killzone sold over the million mark, which is quite good for a fairly new series. A game does not need to break COD records to be successful, which is why Killzone keeps being made, it's got a pretty decent size fanbase.

Killzone is awesome. After Crysis is probably the only other FPS series I can stand

Killzone 2 gameplay was good, it made the game stand out from the rest wich is positive in my point of view and after some time playing it and get used to the controls I really ended up enjoying them. And its MP was probably one of the few MP I ended up playing for hours and hours. The best MP I played on consoles hands down. Killzone 3 was still good but I was used to the old gameplay already so adopting CoD controls was kinda a turn off for me but I still enjoyed it greatly

Also you complain about the story and the characters? In an FPS? Really? when like 99.999999999999% of FPS stories and characters are bland? lol

If you dont like the story just skip the cutscenes. Simple

And prove Killzone is garbage. My friend MajorMayor proved the 360 was garbage. He did it using a very complex math equation, but technically it is true. Mathmatically the 360 is indeed garbage according to the equation.

Killzone2=Single player was boring but the MP was one of the best around.

KZ3 campaign >>>>> KZ2 campaign. It was actually pretty good storytelling for a shooter camaign (not that the competition sets a high bar or anything).

KZ3 multiplayer was a step back though, still played OK but I missed alot of the features they took out of KZ2.

I don't see how anyone can say it was "rubbish" when it was basically the same thing, they polished the campaign and gave better presentation, but in 'streamlining' the multiplayer there were a few losses. Hardly "rubbish" though, net-net they were about equal to me. But like I said it wasn't a game I was looking to put 200 or 500 hours into multiplayer-only like I did with Battlefield. I just wanted to play the campaign a few times, and maybe spend a few weeks (50 or so hours) playing multiplayer. It did the job in that regard.

Agree on KZ1

KZ2 mp was great and KZ3 felt much better then KZ2 in the mp it just lacked some of KZ2 mp features such as lobbies since matchmaking was very hit and miss.

Borderlands? BORDERLANDS??? LOL. Come on man. That game isn't even in the same category. It's an RPG-shooter (and boring as hell with NO story and bunch of repetitive fetch quests to drag out the time to completion).

Even though MW2 obviously destroyed it (and everything else) in sales, I wouldn't even really say there is much that MW2 actually does better than KZ2 or KZ3. At least on the console versions. PC version obviously offers far superior graphics, tweaks, and possible mod capabilities so that is not a fair fight.

But as a series COD is still my favorite. Borderlands was great but it was a bit buggy when you got further into it. Left 4 Dead is one of the most overrated games ever, it only lasts like 5 hours max and is too repetitive.

TC : People like different games (for that matter other media like books/movies/music) on here. I would recommend you go to metacritic and check out the games you are puzzled about. If you want an articulate response to why anyone would like XYZ game, bingo, they are right there. These writers/reviewers are paid to answer just such a question for any game you might wonder about. :shock: Tally Ho! :P

Here's a start : Feb 2009's Killzone 2 91% at Metacritic.com(another interesting point was it came out in February, I wish more 1st party AAA games from other companies wouldn't make us wait till Holiday for games.)

EDIT : TC, personally I liked KZ2/3, but they didn't blow me away. They kept me interested long enough to finish them, which not all FPS do. The story was kinda lame, but the Sci Fi and actual setting worked well. The characterization needed work, but pretty much most FPS suck in getting me involved in the SP so I can't fault it there. The AI was really sharp though, and the game offered offline bots like BOTZONE which is missing in other big FPS franchises. I thought the MP in the games were really fun and had some interesting ideas mixed and mashed from other games I played. I had a blast playing it and ranking up as much as I did in Halo and GeoW online. One difference was the KZ community was smaller, which mean less DLC adoption. Eh.

It is what it is, nothing spectacular for me personally...but a great showpiece for visuals and sound for the PS3. The sound was AMAZING. Not a lot of gamers in SW seem to give half a rat's ass (rat ass cheek? lol) about sound though. I would think if someone LOVES FPS and are playing bland games like Rage, Homefront, various COD's (some are good, some are dialed in) or whatever...they owe it to themselves to actually check out Killzone series. KZ2/3 are much,much better than the average FPS crap out there. There are some better FPS out there imo, but not many. If you love the genre, it's worth checking out, assuming you go into it without a sense of entitlement or bad attitude. If you want to hate something, you find ways to hate anything in this life.:P Also, the games are active, I just played KZ3 a few weeks ago, and during the summer I played KZ2. There is a lot of embellishment regarding game communities deaths in SW, lol.
