Oh hardcore vs. casual is a load of BS. I rant about it all the time. I'll say it again, I have yet to see cohesive, consistently held definition, or criteria that separates the two. Is it the game, or is it the gamer? If it is the game then were is line drawn? The last guy that argued this with me thinks that one is a casual gamer if they do not like complex rpgs....I have friends that have been gaming for 30+ years as a major hobby that dont like complex rpgs. So they're casual?

I see it as we are all just gamers playing for the same thing. Entertainment.

But everyone else seems to want this divide, so I play along and joke on the situation as often as possible. Cant beat em, laugh at their rules. :P

They could make gears 3 playable with both 360 controllers or Kinect and leave it to 360 gamers to pick the choice but again they don't have enough skills to do that. :Pbadtaker

I know nothing about the game honestly. I have no idea what audience its meant to target. Then again I don't even care about the whole hardcore vs. casual divide. Games are games to me, if they are fun then cool, doesn't matter if they are simple or complex, light hearted and colorful or dark and bloody.

I just find it funny that so many people are scrambling around to prove that Kinect is "hardcore". Who cares? Do you enjoy the games? As far as I'm concerned that is all that matters.

I had buyers remorse immediately after purchasing the Wii, but eventually things turned out fine. Maybe Kinect will prove itself as a great means of gaming. Who knows? I just dont see the compelling software yet. Until I do there is no reason for me to get exited over nothing but potential. It may end up being the host of some true classics, or as you said it could fade into mediocrity with nothing but quick buck mini games. Too early to tell and definitely to early to start cranking up the hype.

Not taking away from those games by any means, but I don't think MS cares too much about 1st and 2nd party support very much at all. MS did deliver for a little while there, but things aren't looking the same right now that's for sure.

Heh. I was specifically thinking Mistwalker, but didnt know about Feelplus having anything in the works. Cool. And I'm surprised Remedy would be wanting another round of 360 exclusivity after MS kept it from the PC and in turn failed to market a great game.

MS delivers, now if they will deliver with the same developers is another matter and to deliver is what i want, i dont care what company makes the games as long as they are amazing

Bungie is with Activision working on a multiplat, Remedy kind of got shafted by MS with Alan Wake, Mistwalker isn't concentrating on the 360 at all and Rare has been reduced to a party game generator apparently.

Not taking away from those games by any means, but I don't think MS cares too much about 1st and 2nd party support very much at all. MS did deliver for a little while there, but things aren't looking the same right now that's for sure.

The point is that Microsoft delived and there is no reason to believe that they wont keep doing it

Project Kingdoms may be the next big thing from them, Mistwalker next title may be on 360, they did get Project Dark, all these Kinect core games are from great developers and have potential, Rare can easilyl start working on any number of core titles now, Lionghead has confirmed Fable 4, Remedy is making a Kinect game as it seems and i can see a Alan Wake 2 easilly too

MS delivers, now if they will deliver with the same developers is another matter and to deliver is what i want, i dont care what company makes the games as long as they are amazing

Just because Microsoft has had some good things doesn't mean they can't fail. If I turn in 3 good papers a year and one crappy one, that one crappy one still exists. Its not like I did all good. Also, almost nothing you have said this entire thread has been supported by hard facts, or even by educated guess.

Same can be asid about Sorcery for Move and looks even more kiddy too

Harry Potter is now a Hardcore Game because it's a Third Person Shooter.
