Kinect and Hardcore games, a thorough analysis

Boy this brings back memories. Remember when the Sony fans would post lists of upcoming games like "Naughty Dog Project" and "Team Ico Game". How about the Wii's lists with SC Legends and Castlevania Judgement Day?

Right now we have a list of Kinect games. We know almost nothing about most of them. They could be great, they could be really bad, they could go the way of Milo and disappear. The potential is there, but until we see it actually put to use the reality is that Kinect is geared towards casual gaming experiences.

I'm sorry, Harry Potter is not a hardcore game. It never was and never will be. It is a movie tie-in game bought by Harry Potter fans. I say this as someone who owns every HP game in some form.

lol you basing me off my sig i couldnt reallycare bout move or kinect lol.My wii is used for the purpose of drunken multiplayer with the use of the mario and sonic games.

But HP is far from hardcore its mainly aimed at younger gamers and these games aint difficult i played one with my wee cousin who is7 andhe wasnt really struggling,hence the reason its got the kinectzzzz!!!!this type of gaming appeals more to them than standard pad and hands.

anyway IMAGINE IF infamous 1 was on kinect . The combat would be so simple all you could do is just basic elecetricity and electricity grenade not the other moves .I bet that will happend with harry potter and star wars hey guess what HALO 1000 fall of the reach is confimed for kinect

Kinect will have no "hardcore" games. It'll have a bunch of promising titles developed by big devs that will be watered down and simplified to "almost" work with Kinect.

There's no reason to get your hopes up about core Kinect titles, just cause aSteel Battalian tyep game by the original devs is in the works doesn't mean on release it even resemble the title many loved. Kinect just has far too many limitations to make it work well with a game like that, unless they go a silly route and make you press buttons on a virtual controller :lol:

The now "hardcore" Harry Potter game has now received a spectacular 1 star review form Joystiq and and 2.5/10 from IGN. To be fair, IGN did say that the Kinect add-on content was probably more fun then the rest of the game because it was so short.

Now lets discuss what Kinect brought to the Harry Potter party: a tacked on game mode that allows players to wave their hand like a wand. Game play is on rails and aiming is nonexistant. This sure sounds like the days of added Wii minigame mode to me.

yeah he just keeps copy/pasting the same thing over and over. during the stickied kinect thread he posted this. i argued back and forth with them of the list not being hardcore at all except for maybe 2 potential games that we have yet seen if they'll be hardcore or not. almost the entire list has no gameplay footage.

also, i told him the majority of system wars would agree with me that the list is not hardcore, and it looks like i was right from the looks of this thread LOL

I actually got Demons Souls this year (Europe), so both systems had their best year so far, Fable 3, Mass Effect 1, Lost Odyssey and Demons Souls are my four top games this generation by miles

Though indeed, 360 had vastly more to offer this year and played it far more myself and Kinect seems amazing too, never expected that it would work so well
