What adds to this experience is the accessories race between the Move and the Kinect, and though Sony had a six-week lead over the Kinect, sales indicate that Kinect is already on top of its rival.Pachter cites consumer hesitation in the purchase of bundles that include the Move, saying that the $299 price point needs to be dropped in order to ?accomplish its goals of profitability, solid console sales and Move penetration.?Though we?ve confirmed the Move has sold 4.1 million units, there is strong evidence that the Kinect is looking to have ?an installed base of 8 million by year-end,? says Pachter. ?Depending on pricing, we could see an installed base that approaches 20-25 million by year-end 2011.?Still though, ?the two devices will be around $500-800 million in 2011, or around 2.5-4$ of industry sales next year.

Microsoft specifically reported sold to consumers. Sony is the only one not reporting that figure.
patcher is always wrong always. the kinect will never ever ever ever outsell the move. the move had a headstart its cheaper plus its hardcore and the only one with core games imho

I always thought Pacther was chill but at this point, he's just milking his profession. If that even makes any sense.:lol:
He's an analysist and he forecasts. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they aren't, but it's his job. However with that show of his on GT, I just think that he's trying to be more than just that and it's pretty odd imo.:P

I don't think it'll be that many. I think Patcher was talking about combined sales of Kinect and Move. I think Kinect could sell over 5 million by the end of the year though.

Oh ok, so when videogamechartz says Sony is ahead, it's the total truth. Did you scroll down and see where a couple hours before, Pachter said Kinect passed Move? Once again he's only reliable when providing good info.
Well since Sony will only say they have sold 4.1 million to stores and even then that is not just the camera but the number includes controllers and everything. So for example 1 camera and 2 controllers adds 3 to Sony's number even though only one person would actually use that. I feel if Microsoft to did already pass Sony's sold to customers then in a couple weeks they will. Hell MS sold 2.5 million to customers in just 25 days. That is over 1/2 what Sony was only able to sell to stores so just imagine how many MS has sold to stores also.
