Well im not planning to get Kinect, but after seeing some of the most recent previews, it does look pretty interesting. Its not for me, but I would not be surprised if it sells like the Wii did.

MS is doing something shady and common. they're undersupplying Kinect, and saying preorders are 'sold out'. that will create an illusion that Kinect is selling out everywhere. then people would want to rush to the stores to buy one because of the 'limited quantities'. that way, MS can get more pre-orders. and, believe it or not, MS isn't really short of Kinect units. that's just impossible. they're only saying they're short so people who would not have Kinect as a priority would go out and buy Kinect. i'm betting MS has already tons of Kinects in their stock inventory.

Anyway who is really going to buy it hype doesn't mean sales all Ms is doing is just opening there casket when it comes to the foundation of gaming which is the hardcore market. They can fail in two ways if it sells well goodbye to the hardcore market if it doesn't sell they wasted half a billion.

I hope it sells just tosee xbox gamers faces when all they see is kinect games on rails ever year and maybe 1 or 2 hardcore games(non kinect)(they don't have much 1st party games to being with, imagine when kinect gets all the attention)well at least you get call of duty and the other 3rd party title you get ever year.

supply limiting isnt very common..especially not in a hotly contested motion controller market where you have 2 major competitors happy to steal your customers.

its also mainly used to drive up prices.... which doesnt work when you have a fixed retail price. Microsoft is also not doing it... as there is that news article floating around about the massive orders MS has in place for kinect cameras.
