Kinect for Xbox 360 (formerly known by the code name Project Natal (pronounced /nəˈtɒl/ nə-tahl)),
or simply, Kinect, is a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360
video game platform. Based around an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control
and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface
using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox
360's audience beyond its typical gamer base

PlayStation Move is an upcoming motion-sensing game controller platform for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) video game
console by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). Based on handheld motion controller wand, PlayStation Move uses the
PlayStation Eye camera to track the wand's position, and inertial sensors in the wand to detect its motion. First
revealed on June 2, 2009, PlayStation Move is slated for worldwide launch in Q3/Q4 2010. Hardware available at launch
includes the main PlayStation Move motion controller, and an optional PlayStation Move navigation controller. It will
compete with the Kinect (previously known as Natal) and Wii Remote motion control systems for the Xbox 360 and Wii
home consoles, respectively.

We knew from the beginning that Move is the one that can be used with real games while Natal will only work for party and fitness games (I think Kinect Forza is going to blow). I go with Move although I don't know if I'm getting it.

Well, if I had to choose, I'd say move (which I did) but thats just because there is an iota of a chance that some day i might actually buy into Move. maybe, as I have a spark of interest in seeing what Sony/3rd parties do with it. I want to see MH on the PS3.

Move, it's basically Wii+ ... and the Wii has proven to be able to produce great games with those controls, Kinect on the other hand :/ ... let's just say E3 has me worried.

If I have to pick one, based on the software, Move.

Also, Kinect Forza as a name made me chuckle. It would probably result in a lawsuit from Milton Bradley.

My post from the other thread

Kinect:
4 players, (lets assume for now)
=$149
.

PS Move:
1 Player starter pack $99.
1 Player Sub controller: $29.

1 Player Move controller x3 @ $49 = $147
1 Player Sub controller x 3 @ $29 = $87
= $362

Keep in mind that some of the Move games require 2 Move Controllers to function (archery, etc)

PS Move PS3 Bundle: $399
1 Player Sub controller: $29.

1 Player Move controller x3 @ $49 = $147
1 Player Sub controller x 3 @ $29 = $87
= $662

Move, easily. A device like Kinect that only plays mini-games doesn't interest me.

I'm not sold on the Move yet though. It needs a killer app.

Slashkice
Well it has support for KZ3. I just hope they never go motion control only because that would suck, I would never use Move to play Killzone.

Ha, easily Move. At least Sony is actually using it with some core games, while also keeping it optional in those games as well. It also seems to perform really well. Hard to knock them for that.

Its funny cus at the beginning of this gen ps owners used the same idea to prove that ps3 was cheaper then 360. Also your math is wrong because not all games need the sub controller. Some need 2 moves or just one. We will also never see a 4 player game which uses both a move a sub for each player

From a technology standpoint, Kinect. From a software standpoint, Wiimote. I won't be getting either Sony or Microsoft's motion control devices.

Move looks incredibly pricy, especially if you require 4 players simulataneously. That doesn't seem to be the case with Kinect. I like both, but I think the Move is a bit over-complicated, and Kinect is so simple. I think they both have a good future though.

I cannot believe that people are actually voting for Kinect and it's fail of a line-up over Move that is actually being utilized towards core games, while also keeping it optional to use a controller as well.

I've only watched the MS press conference (Nintendo conference is buffering ATM) but I was very impressed by Kinect's presentation. MS seems to be heavily invested into it and giving it a load of killer features. The only thing missing for it, currently, is its killer app (which I don't think will take long to surface).

I haven't seen Move in action yet, but anything $200 and lower for me is purchase worthy regarding Kinect.

I included the price of the PS3 Move bundle which is $399 and only comes with the EyeToy and one Move Controller, no sub controller.

Yes, 4 players. People are whinging about the price of Kinect but thats what it gives out of the box at a one-time cost.

To have the same 4 player experience with the PS Move you would have to pay the above amounts.

Even for 2 players (1 Starter pack, 1 Move Controller and 2 Sub Controllers) the price is $206.

Why are you assuming people already own a 360 and not a PS3 in your calculations? If you already own a PS3, why buy the PS3 bundle for $399? The cost drops by $400, albeit it probably will be more expensive than Kinect either way.

Because no bundle price has been announced for Kinect. The prices for PS3 products are official and the scenarios are legitimate.

You know what I find funny here in SW? The transition of 360 gamers, not long ago they took pride in the fact that MS is a very core company when it comes to games and online features. Bashed Ninty for their casual take, Sony fans did this too. Now with Kinect majority of 360 gamers are praising, it's like I stepped into the Twilight Zone, MS has actually become more casual than Ninty but it's accepted whilst Nintendo was hated for the very same reason, casualising themselves. I know Im not the biggest of 360 supporters but seriously nothing they showed with Kinect made me go "OMG" My face was like this throughout the painful hour and half of Kinect titles :| I feel as if Im the only one who hated everything they showed for Kinect. Couple months ago lemms were on about the potential of Kinect with core titles but all I saw was casual crap.

Now I don't like motion controls but from what I have seen at E3 Move>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kinect. But both suck and Nintendo will continue to rule over them.

And this will benefit you how? I wish you're right though, I want Kinect to sell in the 10s of millions so MS will go fully casual like Ninty. I want to see how lemms react to that seeing as how they hated Nintendo for going the route of Motion controls whilst they praise the godly Kinect.

Move for me. Socom 4 looked awesome in that IGN video. The Sorcery game had average setting/artstyle, but the seemingly accurate gameplay won me over. Not to mention, KZ 3 if it turns out to control like some first person games on the Wii (MoH Heroes 2 and MP3 controls were great).

Both suck. If they really want to sell me motion controls, they need to quit messing around with theseexercise gamesand minigames, and get some real, competent developers behind their products.

Then a comparison isn't actually legitamit because you're dealing with random numbers on the Xbox 360 side. You can't really have a legitamit comparison when you state how much it's going to cost for system plus motion sensing tech on one console compared to an imaginary number for just motion sensing tech on the other console. It's like comparing the PS4 to the Wii. You can't make a comparison that's meaningfull unless you have the numbers on both items you are comparing.

I will not be getting kinect but I will probably get Move.

Kinect just doesn't seem practical to me and MS don't seem to care about making "real" games for it.

I'm not paying extra money just for a cool way to go through the 360 dash.
