I mean it came out, and all the hype died. I played both the kinect and the move. When playing with friends the kinect was more enjoyable. But it felt really weird; I'm a fan of the buttons. I believe that buttons are essential in video games. In the "combat' and "action" games, move really excelled. The games that involved guns, swords, and bows were precise and accurate. I can't wait to play that magic game (lol) that was showed off at E3.

However, i think that both died and fast. They had their hype and then after their release date, no more.

What do you guys think?

That's what (shipped figures) they put on their quarterly statements. Retailers may or may not provide manufacturers actual sells information, in this case retailers have provided MS that information because they want more Kinect to sell.

"Microsoft's rival, Sony, declared that they sold 2.5 million Playstation Move units, 1M in the US, 1.5M in EU."

It's impossible to track exact sales, the word "sold" is used loosely because it's simpler to understand. All companies use their shipped numbers as sales because they did sell that many to the retailers.

It seems that Kinect has another game with a poor score: MotionSports. Look what is scored at GameSpot:

thom_maytees

guess you didnt see the only exclusive AAE title for next gen motion controllers in dance central, or Kinect Sports 7.5, or Kinectimals which scored the same as the lone highest scoring Move title Sports champions. Or the other 7.0s that Kinect got, oh lets not talk about that....

No, that depends on the retailer. Consoles, software, and most electronics are actually SOLD to retailers. Very few companies, especially in this economy, actually ship products to retailers for free. Walmart, Best Buy, Target, etc all pay for those consoles, electronics. This is why we have preorders and reserves, so these retailers can order (and pay for) only what they need plus a few more to ensure a complete sell through without sitting on dozens of unsold stock.

Common sense. These companies are not tracking every single unit sold of their merchandise all over the world. And why would they? All they care about is what they sell.

It's common sense that they most certainly can track every single unit sold all over the world because they all have a serial number. They can use that to determine whether the item was sold or stolen.

Wait, so you were wrong?

Now, onto your NEW agrument. Let's say Microsoft can track sales down to the digit. Even then they won't do it because there's nothing to be gained wasting time and resources to gather up-to-date numbers from thousands upon thousands of individual retailers, just to give fanboys something to gloat about. Microsoft is a multi-billion-dollar corporation, not your local Gamestop doing inventory checks.

So yes, Microsoft CAN track exact retail sales, if they throw out every good business sense they've ever had. :?

shipped sold all told, Kinect is selling like HOTCAKES, whereas Move not so much, is it that hard to understand? Jeez seems like MS has to sell 10 million by tomorrow to be called a lukewarm success, but we know thats just haters hating. I set the record straight...You are welcome, fans are welcomed to PM for classic Archive moments of the best GS has to offer saying that Kinect will be a failure because it WONT work....

So I'm wrong, and yet you're agreeing that Microsoft CAN track exact retail sales? Is that it?

KaoSXFACTOR

They "can" but they're not stupid enough to waste their money.

Oh please. It's all stored and tracked at Microsoft headquarters. I don't know what you 2 are talking about wasting money looking up figures....

yeah they think its too hard to track it yet when ever you call in a RROD it seemed they knew exactly when you purchased your 360 lol, the haters are trying too hard my friend Way to educate...

Actually they CAN track exact retail sales, and do. It's what determines whether or not more items need to be shipped to the retailer. Have you ever heard of? Out of Stock?

KaoSXFACTOR

Wait, so you were wrong?

Now, onto your NEW agrument. Let's say Microsoft can track sales down to the digit. Even then they won't do it because there's nothing to be gained wasting time and resources to gather up-to-date numbers from thousands upon thousands of individual retailers, just to give fanboys something to gloat about. Microsoft is a multi-billion-dollar corporation, not your local Gamestop doing inventory checks.

So yes, Microsoft CAN track exact retail sales, if they throw out every good business sense they've ever had. :?

So I'm wrong, and yet you're agreeing that Microsoft CAN track exact retail sales? Is that it?

Under the condition that Microsoft operates with zero common sense, I agree with you.

I guess people just can't detect sarcasm in text, either that or just pretending not to understand it. :?

Lol no. If I recall correctly, you have to have your receipt that shows when you purchased the 360 to get it it repaired for free. The fact that I sold my 360 has absolutely zero to do with this. If you can't argue what we're talking about then don't try and change the subject.
