Kinect-a-spycam or a revolution in gaming!!

What does everyone think about the Kinect? Initially I thought it is a cool idea and might evolve the gaming world but then I actually thought about the games I play and Microsofts policies and I am not so sure anymore. I can't actually think of any situations where I will use the kinect and enjoy doing so, all of the games I play require fast gamepad movements and button combinations which I dont think I could do though movements. so that just leave Wii type games.. which I don't play. 

Now Microsofts policies at monitoring us while we play and watch content and them being able to sell that data afterwards (no personal data attached to you = pixelated faces). This leaves me wondering if MS is just trying to get me to buy a perpherial which I am not going to use much and will be used in the major part to generate MS revenue through selling said data, which is a HUGE business. I would just like to know what everyone else thinks and if there is a situation the Kinect will be useful please tell..

I know....I almost fell out of my chair when I read that!!!:lol:

I chose option 2. Gnna use the voice and motion controls alot for switching apps, TV, gaming, ect. My son is a Kinect fan so we'll see if the new games for it begin to show off promise. I doubt it will ever be a core gaming control, but for other stuff, party games and stuff, it'll rock. And if you read the Xbox One privacy settings and know what you have control over you will know its not a spy device. What all eletronic devices can do versus what we have the power to switch off need only be researched.

Even though I don't like it, I'm still getting the XB1 but it won't be for a while.

I didnt purchase the original kinect because It didnt seem like something I would use when I game alone mostly.

2.0 looks like a really interesting piece of kit and I will be using it for navigating the OS moreso than as a game controller.

With that being said if its implemented in to games in a meaningful and interesting way then I have no issues with using it. I certainly dont mind it being bundled with the console.

It's a bit of a security concern still. It may even be banned here.

I really liked the original Kinect and had plenty a fun time with it. From playing Disney characters with the kids to losing to the misses in a drunken dancing contest. I'll be doing more of it with the new Kinect 2.0, but that's not the reason I'm happy its bundled with the Xbox One. Hopefully it will just become part of developers tool set when creating games and they will use it to help improve the overall experience. tdkmillsy

If I bought the next shitbox, I would never plug that shit in, in fact I would do my damndest to completely ignore that thing. The first time someone trolled me with an "XBONE OFF" I'd freak the fvck out.

When it's refered to as a spycam I don't think people mean MS are watching your every move.. like a southpark type World of Warcraft player on the other end drooling over your living room!

More like they will be monitoring you behaviours and responses to games / movies / tv, which they have already said they will do. They said you can turn the privacy options on but does that just mean your personal data (location / name / ect) is not attached to the recorded responses, but the responses are still recorded.

Results staying pretty constant as well.. still around 50% hating the Kinect and 80% don't care about it (bottom 3 options)

One doesn't exclude the other but I don't see how the Eyetoy is going to revolutionize gaming.
