Wrong There is no such thing as a "hardcore game". Only "hardcore gamers"

How can it be wrong? It's an opinion, but using the POA (Postulate of AWesomenessses) I am rite.

What? That makes no sense

All this video showed is how horrible motion controls work for plaformers oO

JigglyWiggly_

It showed a result of an amateur hacker

I laughed at how much he struggles to do even basic things. Ace6301
No kidding. That would frustrate me to no end. They are going to have to do a lot better than that before I give up my controller.

Seriously is this what gaming has been reduced to? Hopping left and right. Get real people.................

Motion Control is worst thing to come out of this gen.

No - It's the fact that a lot of developers are doing trial and error to see what works and what doesn't. This happens with new technology often. Some games use the Wiimote well, Red Steel 2 is an example of a Wii game that uses it well enough - then theres other games that use it in moderation where it's appropriate. Developers can make good Kinect games for core consumers, none of them have actually done so yet.

I agree. I don't see how a game like Red Steel 2 would work or be fun when using a gamepad.

What says everything is the amount of difficulty he had hitting some of the blocks. Does anything else need to be said?

Whats a hardcore game? Does that even exist?

Dungeons and Dragons can be pretty hardcore, so yea, I'd say they exist.

I think motion controls should be a compliment to the controller, not a suppliment.

Let's see Kinect handle a game like Halo or Forza and then I'll be impressed.karasill
I wish someone would just do this already so everyone can see how full of fail this idea is. My friend is under the assumption that COD with Kinect would be "AWESOME" having to run in place to run in game, etc. I know in my heart of hearts that it is the most horrible idea ever, but he's convinced it would be be great and everyone would love it. I really hope someone does this, just so I can laugh in everyones faces.

Anyone still think Kinect is responsive enough to provide gamers with anything but a casual expirience.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CTJL5lUjHg&feature=player_embedded

Which would you prefer, a controller or kinect?

15strong

That's fine and dandy, though it seemed more like a frustrating chore to do. And undoubtably impossible in the later, more complicated levels.

Doing something new that works better than the old would be welcome. Doing something new that isn't nearly as good as the old is horrible. Unfortunately, motion controls fall under the latter.

There are many games that are terrible/not fun to play with the gamepad

Is this really how we're judging Kinect now? Using video of a hack some guy made to play an NES game? Why don't we just wait for one of the core games that MS has promised before ragging on it.

Of course there are hardcore games. They contain skimpy dressed women. That's actually what I expected when I came into this thread. It's the only business Kinect might revolutionize. Anyway, I'm surprised by the amount of people here who think that the TC wanted to hype Kinect.

Every post of yours I've read so far makes me doubt you will enjoy Gray Matter

AdrianWerner
Well, he's obviously just naming all games that might be released for the 360. It doesn't matter if the only thing he knows about it is the name. He still wants it badly.

Impossible to play.Defeating bosses or one of the harder stages (like some of the final ones) is nigh impossible,if your fingers arent fast enough and get hit.I cant see your legs being faster Unles the game is super slow downed.....

I really don't think we're going to see this kind of adaptation for the Kinect. If MS is smart it'll use the technology in new ways that compliment it's abilities and not try to reinvent a control scheme for an existing genre.

I don't know if it is just me. But that video just proves why Kinect and motion controls in general up to this point fail so hard. Was this gimmick with SMB supposed to be impressive?

No need to bash him over having a little fun. Read the video discription,he says "Of course, Mario isn't designed to be played like this, so this is really really hard."
