http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/112/1128257p1.html

9.0 / 10 (On IGN's new 0.5 scale)

Apparently its a very easy and accesible game (apparently no difficulty changes either), so Ninty are probably hoping that it will be a 'bridge' type game for casuals to swallow up, similar to NSMB Wii.

Impressive score, but at 6 hours, I will definately not be getting this at full price. Heres hoping DKC will be 2x longer for me to consider picking up (it's looking like the superior platformer atm IMHO)

I really wish they saved this and DKCR for the 3ds launch, but I will get both eventually.

6 hours is pretty reasonable

its a baby game with little challenge

most of the experienced players will blaze through it.

Well it's longer than Vanquish LOL, but just like that game, it's too short to warrant buying it day one for me. Thank goodness for rental services!

That's like longer than all the other Kirby games :P

So if I really loved all the other Kirby games then that means I'll really really love this Kirby game I assume.

6 hours sounds about right for a Kirby game. Slightly more than i was expecting even.

This will be a nice 2011 drought title for me.

Wow, was expecting an 8.0 or 8.5, what with the lack of Kirby's inhale ability and all. I'll probably get this game now.

Sounds alot like every other Kirby.... with the exception of Amazing Mirror. The confusion I faced in that game made it last hours more.

Yeah.. there's probably a lot of replay for this game. I'm still getting it on day one. I can always sell it for $30-$35 after I beat it. 6 hours is good enough for this type of game. If it was an RPG, I'd be disappointed.

I'm between this, DKCR and Epic Mickey, and so far, it's been a hard decision, i was sure to get this one, but i think i'll wait for a price drop, so far, Epic Mickey looks like the game to get this holiday on Wii, then again, DK could have the final word.

Seriously, this whole crap about length of the game.. Shouldn't the game itself be fun? Is the point of playing the game just to reach the end? Or is it the experience itself? Though I dislike games that are intentionally easy. But games like Sonic the Hedgehog genesis are probably one hour long, two hours top, and it is still fun to play. That being said.... DOWN WITH THE Wii!

People have the nerve to rag on LBP's single player. At least it was challenging and lengthy and allows players to continue the adventure with create mode.

Kirby has no MP of any kind, and while people have said that this is pretty standard for a Kirby game, it still doesnt encourage me to buy this game full price :/ Although I agree that basing the purchase of a game PURELY on length is wrong, I still feel cheated when an SP game ends so quickly.

Mmmm LBP was not broken sir. And if you are referring to the in-game physics than you would be wrong. Much like the "weight of the gun" in KZ2 it's merely a case of getting used to a game that plays differently. It's certainly not broken but anyone expecting mario physics had to readjust their expectations.

i dont know. blowing yourself up if you cant progress anymore due to the lack of any good level design seems to be capitulation and a staple example of a game dealing with its broken mechanics.

well considering how cows hate "crappy controls" it should have been an issue, especially when you add the 2D thing..

8.0 at best. And probably less if it was released on the wii that has higher standards for platformers. It would have had to compete with SMG

Another critically acclaimed Nintendo game. What else is new. Nintendo has been on fire this year with the GOTY Galaxy 2, Sin and Pun 2, and now Kirby (with Metroid Other M being the exception) DKCR is up next.Oh and GS will give Kirby a 7.5. Im calling it right now.

This is a god-send for usermade levels. Not so much an issue with the single player dev made levels. It certainly wouldn't be the first platformer to have places where you get stuck. Its an elegant and simple solution. Better than not having any other way out.

You don't have to like it. It's different and I don't think it should be penalized for that. Plenty of side scrollers have typical mario-esque physics. I'm glad LBP isn't one of them. It'll be nice to see how they improve upon this in the sequel. At least it makes LBP stand out from other platformers. I don't see how it competes with SMG since SMG is a 3D platformer and LBP is a 2D platformer.

Indeed. Is this whole "can't die" thing sounds kinda lame to me...unless it's handled like how it was in a Wario land game or something.

lol the SP was easy as hell and short. We breezed through that in an afternoon. It was pretty crappy too.

Crappy in regards to what other users made online. LBP user levels has been some of the most fun ive had this gen. I was playing a resort level with my friends yesterday and it was unbelievably well made. Games like LBP and KZ2 have been favourites of mine partly because of how uniquly they control. Its a shame seeing people interpret that as broken.

I know this whole post is OT but anyone else out there that has LBP1 but has no desire to get LBP2? Its not that it looks bad, i just feel really content with the first game.

Whoops, I actually did know about the local MP, forgot about that one :P That said, it is obviously not as deep as other MP games (even on Wii), and is not a 'seperate' mode, i.e it is just an addon for the SP to reach some other levels, although I don't know how 'deep' it is.

Yup, as I and many others on teh internetz have said, its probably to be accesssible to the widest audience; the kidz who play kiddy games on their wii, and the fewer hardcore gamers who would appreciate the game for its nostalgia and quality and graphics etc

eh... playing the whole campaign with coop is a pretty good thing. i hated MW2 and MW1 for not having that option and adored Halo 3 and Gears because those games had that. also i never played any other multiplayer component of any of those games outside of the local coop mode

Well, for a Kirby game I guess it is.

Platformers aren't generally super long experiences, and the longevity of them comes from replayability. Mario platformers aren't really long games, but they still get plenty of play time from me due to me going back to them due to how much fun they are.

We aren't talking about RPGs here.

[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"]People have the nerve to rag on LBP's single player. At least it was challenging and lengthy and allows players to continue the adventure with create mode. shutdown_202

lol the SP was easy as hell and short.

Well it took me longer to finish seeing as I had to collect every item and unlock every level. Usermade levels are fine but I just get tired of the ones based on other games and movies. In many ways I prefer the original game levels simply because its not "he this is based on batman" and "hey this is based on ghostbusters" or "hey its mario bros. level 1 for the umpteenth time!"

Aside from the art style I don't really see much special about this game.Zero5000X

^ this. But since I love Kirby, I might end up buying it even though it doesn't seem to feel like a Kirby game at all :S

6 hours is supposed to be impressive?

Well, for a Kirby game I guess it is.

Platformers aren't generally super long experiences, and the longevity of them comes from replayability. Mario platformers aren't really long games, but they still get plenty of play time from me due to me going back to them due to how much fun they are.

We aren't talking about RPGs here.

I read from some youtube comments that the older DKC games had a really long SP. Does anyone know how long those games were?? :/
