Sw33tChilLi
Well, for a Kirby game I guess it is.
Platformers aren't generally super long experiences, and the longevity of them comes from replayability. Mario platformers aren't really long games, but they still get plenty of play time from me due to me going back to them due to how much fun they are.
We aren't talking about RPGs here.
I read from some youtube comments that the older DKC games had a really long SP. Does anyone know how long those games were?? :/DKC1 was a very short game.
DKC2 and 3 could be pretty long games IF you tried to get all collectibles (without using cheats) to get the TRUE final fights in each game.
collectibles are another way to add replayability to platformers.
I hate to say this but I called this since the very very beginning. People totally over hyped Kirby:EY even though theirs nothing special with that game. I mean DK:R and Epic Mickey look leagues ahead of that game, gameplay and art style.

Damn, now even 9 scores are considered crap here?
Geez, SW's standards always get higher and higher. before you know it they'll have to increase the scale to 20 to meet SW's high standards...
Well clearly Kirby would not be a very challenging game to patforming veterans, I wonder if the new DKC will have a harder difficulty??? Knowing how Nintendo have been lately, I doubt it.DKC 2 and 3 were long because they were hard as f
they have about 100 or so levels that can be beaten within 10 hours if you are skilled enough to do so.

Uggg, reading comprehension fail. Did I say anywhere that the game sucked? Nope, i said it was over hyped. And I personally think the game is nothing special (must i say my opinion for everything now?)Guys, Im a Sheep and have no problem saying that I am, but open your eyes. 50 bucks for a 6 hour game that's incredible easy.... What is that point of that? AAA or not, its not a matter of score but a matter of value.
I would much rather spend my money on Mickey or especially DK:R.
[QUOTE="Wanderer5"]
Meh I am more worried about the difficulty than the length. So it is really easy? I heard you can't die in this game.
DJ-Lafleur
Indeed. Is this whole "can't die" thing sounds kinda lame to me...unless it's handled like how it was in a Wario land game or something.
How was it handled in Wario Land? I played 1,3, and 4 through I kinda forgot, but I think in Warioland 1 it was like Mario and 4 had a life bar, so I guess you are talking about 2 or 3.

Well, the in Wario land 2 you could never die or get a game over. From what I remember, screwing up simply had you restart a certain puzzle, or for boss battles, you'd somehow get sent out of the battle screeen with the boss, and then have to re-enter and restart the battle from the beginning.
I don't know if other Wario land games were like this or not though.
EDIT: apparently they are not.
It's odd considering how often games that are longer than this are criticised for lack of length. It does look fun though.6 hours is supposed to be impressive?

lol this has nothing to do with being a sheep or not,
i would choose the unique experience over the length, thats why im going to buy vanquished and kirby no matter the number of hours the game lasts.
Haha, pretty much my opinion on this game in a nutshell. I hope DKCR will be challenging as well as longer than Kirby, otherwise both games may have to wait for the bargain bin / rent / 2nd hand.Uggg, reading comprehension fail. Thats good for you and fine and dandy. I'll wait until it gets to 20 bucks in about 3-4 months, and buy DK:R which im predicting will be 10-12 hours for 50.I find it hard to believe that you would spend $50 / 35GBP etc on an 'experience' no matter what the cost is? So making Kirby 2x longer or 2x shorter would be irrelevant to the the games value in your opinion then?lol this has nothing to do with being a sheep or not,

I really doubt it going to drop down to $20 in 3-4 months lol.
Exaggerated a bit, but you get the gist of what im saying... Btw Mario Galaxy 2 dropped to around 30 bucks, and its only been around 4 months. Metroid Other M is around 30 dollars as well and it hasn't even been 3 months yet....After you play the game for like the 10th time, you can speed run it. First time i beat MP 2, it took around 15 hours and the game was way beyond incredible.oh god some of you people are really...
there are speedruns of metroid prime beaten in under 2 hours
OMG MP is a 2 hour game and has no value

Great score for Kirby. I wonder what gamespot will score it.

You were immortal in Wario Land 2 and you were for most of the part immortal in Warioland 3 (there was one part where you could actually die).

hakanakumono
Well its certainly not dissapointing, for a Kirby game anyway.
No ones saying that. I'm pretty sure that the usual time to beat MP is 15 hours +, and in Kirby's case, its 6 hours + I'd be perfectly happy buying MP full price, not so much for Kirby.oh god some of you people are really...

I'm pretty sure they said that it takes 6 hours to see the credits roll, not finish it.
Gametrailers seems to be happy with the game's length.

I still see SMG2 as $50 along with most Nintendo games on the Wii even Twilight Princess, but then again this is for USA.

gametrailers actually praised it for being longer then most kirby games.
People who are disappointed didnt know much about kirby in the first place.

Go to amazon.... They have those games NEW not used for 30 bucks... Used is even cheaper.Btw I live in the US. But Twilight Princess is a game that baffles me. I dont know why its still so darn expensive.

I just check Amazon and the price for Super Mario Galaxy 2 is $50 (it on a deal now but it still $40)... Used is $30 through.

My bro just bought one new on Amazon for 30, but it was on a deal. But either way, you still get the gist of it. I dont mind buying used anywho. :PI think this game is AAAE confirmed. It got a 9.5 from GameInformer and then a 9.5 in their second opinion. Normally I disregard GI reviews, but this is one of the few times they gave such excellent scores to a game that don't include machine guns, so it must actually be great.JAB991
Yah, I'm surprised too.
They usually give a high score to whichever game is going to sell highest that month :P And as far as I know Kirby games sell "ok".
6 hours or not I'll be getting it. I can drag it out, do everything there is to do, and replay favorite levels with friends on co-op. You know you can stretch these games out.
I do love how the title tries to distract from the fantastic score and gives no mention of the 9.0/10 whatsoever.

Great scores so far, hopefully Gamespot gives it a AAAE score and it can keep its AAA status on Metacritic.
Why do they dock games longer than this for being to short, but could almost careless about this being short. Double Standards for the win. millerlight89It's IGN.
[QUOTE="Sollet"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Heh, how long is Vanquish? i read about 4 hours.Well it's longer than Vanquish LOL, but just like that game, it's too short to warrant buying it day one for me. Thank goodness for rental services!

I use to stick up for them when everyone else started talking bad about them. As the days go by, they are making it really hard for me to do that :P. Btw, I am not knocking the game. I loved playing Kirby back in the day, I just hate double standards.
The game is about six hours straight through, but that's not counting the unlockable hide-and-seek modes for all the levels and the additional level path for each world.
Twisting what was said is nice. So basically in 6 hours you can speed through the game and ignore a large portion of the content, just like many games these days. Most other reviews have said around 10 hours by the way.

Because you would've scored a game you've never played differently than the way IGN who has played it did we should disregard the score and act like the game flopped? Wow logic just gets better and better in System Wars. I know you never directly said that but you seem to be trying really hard to detract from the AAA scores.

Well, I think what they stated was that it's very possible for the whole to be greater than the sum of it's parts.
Becuase there are some games with an averaged out score, but then some where the score doesn't quite make sense. They mention that the game is just fun enough regardless of things like the sound, or graphics, or lasting appeal, and that they still think the game deserves a great score.
So with Kirby you might get a 6 hour game, but you'll get a 9/10 experience throughout those 6 hours according to IGN.

I am not really one to **** over short games, nor am I ****ing this is short. However, if they ARE going to **** about other games being short, do it for all imo. Don't just say hey this is longer than other Kirby games, so it is all good. That is my opinion anyways.Raymundo_Manuel
