ok heres a senario for you guys. ps3 slim gets announced but next NPD results shows it getting beat by the 360. what will happen

1. sales won't matter 2. It was only out for a week 3. ZOMG why do people care about NPD, its worldwide that matters 4. Just wait til next month 5. Just wait for holiday season 6. Just wait until next year 7. Just wait until slim gets a price cut! That should just about cover it.
I'd say this is absolutly true... There is no way that KMART would have that front and center if it wasn't locked down. I'm much further to the 360 fanboy side, but there is no speculation on this... its happening. The cool thing will be to see what type of cuts the 360 takes... wii possibly?

I am not questioning it's success, as it has been a sales behemoth. However, I am questioning the fact that it is still 250.00-300.00 for last generation hardware. For someone who already owns a PS3 and a 360, I cannot justify paying 250.00+ for a Wii when the 360 and now PS3 is within the same price point. As popular as the Wii is, it is simply too expensive for what is inside the system and I am not going to let Nintendo rip me off merely because the Wii is popular. Glad you think it's a good deal....I don't.:)

You may not think it's worth the current price, but the people who are buying Wiis do. As long as they're willing to pay that price, then Nintendo is justified in maintaining it.
I will never understand why current PS3 owners are excited for a price drop. Same reason you will be excited when the 360 drops its price. However, for me, im buying another one since im going to college, and giving my old one to my brother

Good for them, I am only speaking for myself here. But, I am sure I am not alone in thinking that compared to the PS3 and 360 (which are both now within the same price point) it is indeed a rip off.

When did I say I was speaking for everybody? Oh, I didn't. Still, when comparing what you are getting between the 3 systems, it is common sense that it is overpriced now. I am not talking about what someone wants to buy based on personal preference. As someone who only wants a Wii is going to buy one anyway, which I am not trying to dispute.

Well basically what you just said won't happen. one cannot answer a hypothetical question, one must simply say but that would never happen, even if at gamescom sony anounces it and tomorow every store gets a message saying drop the arcade 360 and elite by 100 dollars...
If the pricepoint is true, I dont wanna ever hear complaints about how the PS3 price is too high from now on.Considering it will be only $100 more compared to the bare boned 360 Arcade. And the rumored Elite will be the same price.
And while the Pro was on the market for about 3 to 4 years or so, it was mainly at 300 bucks, so it is utterly pointless to hear lame complaints about the PS3 price if true.
