Awesome news! Well I know I will be buying this. I've bought the PS2 collection long ago but now I'm ready for some HD Metal Gear Solid with Trophies/Achievements. :D

Kojima: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection playable at TGS, Runs at 60fps

PlayStation fans looking forward to the upcoming Metal Gear Solid remakes are likely to be a tad more excited this week after Kojima Productions offered up a couple of related titbits.

Specifically, the acclaimed Japanese softwaredeveloper has confirmed that the Metal Gear Solid HD collection will be officially revealed in a playable format during September's hotly anticipated Tokyo Games Show (TGS).

The triple-threat collection will also deliver reliably sexy smooth graphics thanks to a suitably high-definition frame rate of 60 fps.

The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will hit retail shelves in November and will contain PlayStation 2 titles Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, along with PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Kojima's much-coveted stealth games are being developed by Texas-based Bluepoint Games, the same studio that handled the porting of Sony's popular God of War Collection.

Only thing keeping this from perfection is MGS1 remasterery (couldn't they just port the GC Twin snake version :cry: )

It made the game a lot better, and made some stages of the games more playable or in the case of the monster hunter stages they were easier to handle and get done.

Why couldn't they replace MGS2 with MGS1 :(Sollet

Not sure... this is probably wild speculation but I think it has to do with trophies. All collections are released with trophies and if MGS1 had trophies then I imagine a bunch of people would start clamoring for trophy patches for "x" game off of PS1, PSN store. Probably not true but hey I can't think of/don't wanna accept another reasonable explanation.

Good to hear sadly its just a rerelease and I wish we had twin snakes in the release too.

I was about to post this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kojima did another remake of it for PS3/360.

because it would be kinda pointless to have 1,3,PW despite 1 and 2 playing crucial roles in the story arc of MGS2 i really dont see why so many people hate it either.

had 1 of my favourite boss battles of the series and possibly the best music the really electronica driven soundtrack in a limited form has found its way onto my iPod :S also my band was toying with coming on stage with yell (dead cell theme).Sure theres some rough bits but tbh i'll probably be hated but its my favourite MGS gme and still plaayed regularly.

MGS2 is my least favorite MGS game but it's still very, very good. I personally am a bit excited to play Peace Walker as I already own MGS1 off the PStore

Silicion Knights was involved with that game. I don't know what role they play in Twin Snakes never showing up anywhere else, but trust me whenever they're involved nothing, I repeat NOTHING is as simple as it should be.

Twin snakes on GC was the dogs bollocks. Sad they have not added it. Anyway i love MGS2 and never really played snake eater or peace walker.

Interesting. I never got into MGS3 on the PS2. Tried it, and just didn't like it all that much. I would kind of like to try it again to see if I still feel the same way.

For that Snake was suppose to be in Melee but Melee was too far in development so they put Snake in Brawl.

I sold my old GTA games a while ago, hoping they would make an HD collection of that but stuck with MGS. I feel like I may have made the wrong selling choice, but either way I'm excited for it. If I remember right, MGS2 was at 60fps, but not 3 so it will be great to play them in glorious HD. Hopefully they transfer over the VR missions from Substance and the Snake vs Monkey scenarios from Subsistence too.

I don't know what I'm most excited for! The absolutely stunning and emotional MGS3, the deep complex narrative of MGS2, or the best game on the PSP that I haven't played yet! Probably MGS3 because I know I can't get through MGS2 again without help!

nope. MGS3 ran at sub-30 most of the time. add just a few particles to the action and it turned into a slideshow. this updated version is actually going to feel and play better I predict.

I would hope games from previous gens could run at 1080p and 60 FPS on modern consoles.
