Konami as a whole could force him to do it, but thats like taking your cash cow out the back and shooting it. They can't force him to do it cause they know he'll quit and sony will pick him up and give him a hugh studio and hire all his team at kojima productions.
PS3 will most likely keep MGS4 without a doubt, so dont sweat it.
good luck..
with the poor size of the ps3 userbase, they'll never make up the dev costs...
idiots..
oh well.. Splinter Cell is the new king of Tactical Espionage genre anyway...:)

kind of stupid when ps3 sales are abysmal

 bu but teh MGS4 tattoo on Peter More at the MS presscomferance??
LMAO...lemmings are such selfowners.
Kojima, as the developer, doesn't make money directly from sales. Thats for the publisher, Konami. Konami is the one that pays Kojima for development. Its more like, "Kojima, do you want Konami's money?".dear mr kojima
i want to play mgs4 but i will never shell out $500-600 for a POS3, i have a 360, now mr kojima do you want my money or not?????? :P

lol who got self-owned here? The fact is, is that one of ps3's best upcoming titles was being disccused as a multiplat, that's a terrible sign.
I wonder what Kojima's motivation is? Is it because of a promise? Not everyone is after the money.KungfuKittenIt'd because as he stated " The Ps3 is like a theater, a bit high priced but also has to be high quality.... I want MGS4 in the theater." It's just like how square enix stated that the ps3 was best system to achieve it's vision for FF13, the ps3 is the best for kojima's vision, especially because of the cell's architecture, and blu-ray.

i cant wait to see the cow crying threads over MGS4 when it gets its exclusivity dropped. And why is it Kojima's desicion? Konami can do whatever they want, after it all thier money he's spending.rocktimusprime
because Kojima got the power of the "delete" button, if you know what I mean that is :)

You do know that you sound ignorant ? it's not a rumor , it's konami themself that put MGS4 exclusivity in question . Kojima can't do **** about it .

As it was told, this is supposedly the last MGS game. So why not go out with a bang and make the most money on it. Which is pretty much up to the PUBLISHER to do.
Hideo Kojima is not only the head of Kojima studios, but he's also the vice president of Konami. He probably has the biggest singular say in wether or not the game is exclusive.Timstuff
Actually, he's not the VP of Konami, anymore. He's just the head of Kojima Productions.
[QUOTE="Prid3r"]If Konami want to bring MGS4 multiplat , it's pretty obvious that it will go Multiplats . Konami own Kojima and also own MGS .JayPee89Konami doesn't own anyone. If Kojima wants to leave he can, and that would be the end of Metal Gear.It is the end of Metal Gear...
Konami can do whatever they want and if they really want to bring MGS4 to the 360 then they can. They'd just have to get over the fact that if they do Kojima would move on to another publisher.
[QUOTE="Gears360"]lol witch one has a 33% failure rate witch one is a pos.dear mr kojima

The 33% failure was a rumor and estimate at best, and MS has improved the console which has better and more games than the waitstation 3.
[QUOTE="vickissv2"]im calling bs on this. besides its not up to kojima if the game goes multiplat or not , so who cares what he thinks?GARRYTHhe is the writer of the game. that is like telling a athur what to do about his book. the rights belong to him.
Actually I work for a book publishing company , and the author signs over all the rights of the book and has no control of the marketing or distribution of it. Or even the name of the book.

in case you didn't know, a lot of potential 360 buyers are WAITING because MS still hasn't included the 65nm chips in the 360s. It will be around fall when that finally happens. So people are WAITING to buy a 360 when it gets better hardware. I think that constitutes it as a waitstation, don't you?

Are you serious? They don't even have control over the books title?
Lame.
Konami co can go jump off a bridge, i love kojima and hope he has enough respect to keep ps3 exclusivenotoriousmatty
Konami is not run by Kojima...he is employee....Konami can do whatever the hell they want no matter what Kojima thinks.

And MGS may be Kojima's intellectual property, not the publishers. In the music industry, a record label can't release a 'greatest hits' collection from an artist without the Artist's say so. This could well be the same scenario. For all we know, Kojima could tell Konami to take a flying leap, and take his intellectual property elsewhere. Until you know the details, you know nothing. Now, stop purporting to know what you're talking about when you're purely speculating.

That may be how your publishing company does things, but do you think stars like King, Grisham, Rowling, etc sign deals like that with their publishing companies? LOL. You think just because your company does things in that manner, it's the norm?
MGS 4 will be released on the 360 because in the end, logic and common sense will win out. Kojima doesn't want MGS 4 on another console because he believes the PS3 to be a "theater". and he thinks MGS 4 is meant to be played in a "theater".
On the other hand, Kitaue wants MGS 4 to go multiplat purely for financial business reasons, as the PS3 isn't selling nearly as well as had been hoped. He doesn't believe the recent $100 price reduction will be enough to increase the PS3's user base to the extent that enough people will buy MGS 4 and allow it to recoup its high development costs, much less make a profit.
Only one of these two men is playing the role of the intelligent businessman.
LOL at you guys saying what Kojima can do and what Konami can do. None of you guys know the details of their arrangements. Some developers (read: Kojima) have artistic rights over their creations. This MAY or MAY NOT be the case here, but if it is, Kojima has the ability to say where the game will be release. Until someone can dig up a copy of his contract with Konami, you don't know what you're talking about. MGS may well be Kojima's intellectual property, which would give him the ability to stop development altogether were he to choose.bforrester
agreed. most people here think it's all about the money and bussiness, but some people may do it in another way. there's no telling how they are agruing about this since you can make the circumstances in a contract practically how you want.
