Konami say they cant support SH5 on 360

Whatever, if Konami wants to keep close to a platform which is doing badly they'll find their finances going down the toilet. They'll manage then to somehow squeeze their games onto a DVD9 and won't be shy of taking the money as well.Hoobinator

Good for the Sony fans, doesn't really matter to me considering Xbox owners mostly got 2 and 4, just to make money. Why didn't Xbox get 3 anyway?

I'm not a big fan of Silent Hill anyway, and atomospheric game that doesn't deliver the scares.

X360 is still low sale in Japan.  PS3 is three time than X360 sale in Japan.

I can't wait SH5 on PS3, I'll get SH5 import blu-ray games on free region PS3 system. That's why I care Japan developer games. for example Capcom, Square-enix, Konami, Tatio, Sege...etc there important for me games.

it seems to me that Konami is playing sides but knows that if doesnt see better sales with the ps3 then it will be have to make silent hill mutliplatform. Konami has always been a big supporter of sony so its no wonder you see this kind of admiration for the ps3. But lets not forget what happend with devil may cry

Best not to underestimate the hardcore, Wii-playing grandmothers. Tsuboyama slyly closed the interview with a non-denial denial about a potential E3 appearance for Konami's survival-horror series: "I'm not saying Silent Hill 5 will definitely be there, but you should be!" WAIT THE LAST SILENT HILL WAS MULTIPLAT OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i see the reason why it got a 7.9 their were so busy trying to make the game for both systems they forgot to make a good game this is what happens when konami trys to make a multiplat game keep it on one system and then port it a year later then you be alright. but try it at the same time you get a huge flop.

Agree, I don't care if it goes multiplatform, make the PS3 version awesome.

Like VF5 did, take it one platform at a time, Haze doing the same thing also. Maybe GTAIV will do this also, delay the 360 version and focus on PS3 now.

People keep pointing out that the ps3 is selling crappy, but ignore the fact that it has almost no games whatsoever!  At least wait until July when Lair and NGS hit, because from then on the ps3 will have a steady release schedule throughout the fall with Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Warhawk, etc. hitting the shelves, and then we can better judge whether or not the ps3 is selling well.

This is why the devs are taking a "wait and see" approach with the ps3.  They are not saying it is doomed like all the fanboys and media pundits are, they are waiting fro the games to start showing up, because they know, being devs, that the games sell the system.  The system doesn't sell itself.

This is the original interview that has been rehashed and twisted all over the net, you can see that his response is more ambiguous but more suggestive that a 360 version is likelyu

They are two completely different articles, in which the same guy said similar things, in one expanding on the fact that they really want to utilize Blu-Ray and the Cell, but may be forced to go multiplat because of low ps3 sales.

Also, America made WoW, Starcraft, and Oblivion. US can do anything Japan can, it just comes with will power.

That's harsh but sorta true. I'm excited to see what a developer can do with PS3 hardware when they focus on it as opposed to porting a 360 game over.

I recall Grand Theft Auto scoring a 9.6 multiple times last generation even though it was launched on the PS2 :| Sure as hell didn't hold those games back.

We haven't heard much about the next entry in the ultra-creepy Silent Hillfranchise, but thanks to a recent interview in Electric Shock magazine with the game's chief director, Masashi Tsuboyama, we've got more info. The biggest tidbit from the discussion? Konami could be planning to make the game exclusive...provided the PS3 sells better.

A few things are pretty eye-catching, here. First of all, Konami and the team looked closely at all the consoles and found that none were able to fully support their idea for Silent Hill 5. Well, none except for the PS3. Tsuboyama said Blu-Ray is a "very necessary asset" in their development process, and he believes the system's processing power is "far beyond" that of the other consoles. Currently, they have no plans to bring the game multiplatform, although they may be forced down that road if PS3 sales don't improve.

We might be able to expect more info at E3, but for now, all of this is pretty encouraging for PS3 owners. It's another major developer saying Sony's system is head-and-shoulders above thecompetition in terms of power and potential, and if sales get better, we might be seeing more exclusives in the future.

You make it sound like were in the 85-94 era of gaming when Japan was the biggest VG market and US devs sucked outside of the PC market.  You might have just come out of your nuclear bunker and discovered the internet, so I retract my comments if you have.

the technology being employed in GTA IV is far superior. Have you seen the veins in niko belic's hand as he holds his gun. then there's  The next-gen lighting and the level of detail.

As much as I love Crackdown, it is very short. Saint's Row is pretty little also.
GTA has 100 missions, meaning it is long.

I don't know if I agree with what Rockstar said, but they said no HDD was holding them back. I take their word over anyone else's. Rockstar is also a little company. I rather have PS3 version of GTAIV come first, with 360 second. Or make the 360 version have to have HDD. That is only way Rockstar would not hold the game back as far as their words go.
