Kotaku confirms that GTA IV: L&D outsells KZ2!

So it's amusing that the worldwide sales of GTA for 2 weeks beat the 2 days of Killzone 2 in one region. You keep grasping for those straws, maybe your arguement won't look so desperate.

I don't know how Halo Wars got into the conversation...But considering the popular, selling power of the franchised name I for one was surprised in a way it didn't sell more. Still very good though considering its a console RTS (and in large part to it being a Halo title).TREAL_Since

The majority of Halofans are much smarter than many here give them credit for. Despite the Halo haters and fanboys proclaiming it only sold because people didn't know it was an RTS, well, it's absolute crap. That argument is worthless. If so, Halo Wars would've did 2.5 million + on day one.

It speaks for itself really; We comparw DLC, an add on to a game many have called a let down to a full blown, massively hyped PS3 exclusive with fantastic reviews. Call me crazy but I'd have guessed the DLC to be the underdog.

Actually it's the TC comparing L&D with KZ2, using highly biased sales figures and data to make L&D look better (2 weeks worldwide L&D sales vs 2 days NA KZ2 sale)

It's not a failure, though I was expecting it to sell better than this. 300,000 in North America in two days isn't something bad, but I thought it would be Halo 3 on PS3 or something...

So what? You're comparing a year old game's DLC (Game which has sold like 5 millions copies and still pretty much popular to this day) on a platform which has a bigger fanbase which is 20 bucks with a month-old game (60 bucks), sequel to a mediocre game, on a less successful platform.

I agree though KillZone was way overhyped, but not on sales, unless you're a diehard blind PS3 fanboy. Anybody with some logic would have known that KillZone 2 was not gonna sell like Halo 3 or GTA IV.

No not at the same time, but they're both broke. The disc drive in his stopped working (gotta pay to get it fixed). And mine 1 ringed. BTW, I'm not talking about Eve, but my 11 year old brother. He loves RTS games.

As for MS, they're only 2nd place not first. Unlike the other 2 companies, they have no right to be arrogant. You don't see Nintendo's PR spewing such arrogant nonsense, that's why I respect them the most out of the 3.

Install base comparison:

Killzone 2 = 21 million

GTA4: L&D= 6 million

Huh, imagine that. A game that was out for two weeks outsold a game that was out for 2 days...nice. Not only that...comparing worldwide L&D sales to NA Killzone 2 sales? Kotaku is such freakin' fail.

This doesn't surprise me though, KZ2 met expectations quality wise, so now it's on to sales for the fanboys. Luckily they have a website like Kotaku to fuel them.

Sony has a problem which is that PS3 owners don't buy a lot of games. A lot of people probably bought the ps3 as a blu-ray player first and a game console second which is having an impact on sales. The 360 install base seems to have more gamers that have no problem shelling out $60 for a new game especially if reviews are favorable.

Spin KZ2's sales all you want but it sends a clear message to developers: Spend years and over 20 million to develop a highly rated game and watch it be outsold by dlc on the 360.

But at least we don't have to hear about this being the next big thing/system seller/halo 4 etc. Sony does have one thing going for them this gen which is plenty of free advertising on the internet.
