lol, x-play, the one who takes points off of RTS games for having to much depth?cobrax75
Come on now, they do their best. Its like Jeff when he reviewed Kane & Lynch, sure Jeff has given plenty of poor reviews but kudos to him for being honest. Besides, theX-Play reviewer backed up his review by showing what was wrong with the game.
The review hasnt been posted on gamerankings. hmm, that's odd. They usually post x-plays reviews. I wonder how many discrepencies GR has like this.
lol, X-play.....I still cant believe you think that they are actually good reviewers.
they are pretty much the laughingstock of this entire forum...and that was long before the Crysis review.
cobrax75
They backed up the review with gameplay footage, regardless of how bad some of their old reviews have been. Maybe they have been inspired by Jeff.

i can't believe people are getting desperate enough to use X-Play, lol
X Play isn't afraid to tell it like it is. I was really plesed with their Darkness review..they gave it 3 out of 5 stars because the game was boring as hell, and it was.
Face it, Hermits, Crysis probably isn't all that great.
@laughingman42: That quote in your sig is hilarious.
Funny how 'unbias' and 'truthful' is being determined by how a non-PC gamer assumes the quality of a game he has never played.rimnet00

So you've never played it. It's a great game. Sure, it has it's technical problems. But it's still a really fun game. No review is going to convince me that I didn't have tons of fun playing Crysis, because I did. And I thought that was what made a game great, but apparently it isn't according to X-Play.
For giving Crysis an unbiased and truthful review. The game truly is a good game, for two years ago. They were even able to back up their claims by showing the dumb ai and broken physics, kudos. I hope Crytek watched the review, claiming that Halo 3 is 5 years behind pc fps and then releasing Crysis. Crytek must of been refering to graphics only.kevy619
Console shooters are always several years behind PC shooters. The only people who dont understand this are console only gamers.
If Gamerankings would count it,it would bring the score of Crysis below AAA.killab2oo5
You know, I think that it would bring Crysis to right around FarCry's score. I guess Crytek's two games will be GameRanking Score Buddies.
Kudos to X-play for lying about Crysis? They give every freaking console game under the sun a 5/5, and then a game comes along that totally trumps all those gamse and suddenyl it gets a 3/5? Thats complete and utter bullocks. They were expecting some kind of linear corridor shooter like Halo or something. (relatively speaking).Vandalvideo...:| -sighs-

I suggest watching the review, to people saying I know nothing of pc gaming. I used to pc game, I just dont see much point in it until Starcraft 2 comes out.

Funny. Crysis has more gameplay styles than Halo could ever dream of. Halo 3 is basically the previous Halos with new bells and whistles. If anything, halo is the one thats behind. Crysis provides open ended gameplay thats well above and beyond the curve. What has Halo done new recently? Saying Crysis is like Far Cry with a shiny coat of paint is so unbelievably wrong.

Cloaking is so Halo 2. Dont feel too bad, I heard S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and World in Conflict were pretty awesome.

Come on now, Crysis wasn;t exact;y a genre changing experience. As good as the first half of the game was (gameplay wise), there were bugs just about everywhere. The physics would mess up, the AI would disappear, and your vehicle would explode for just about no reason what so ever. It also has one of the worst endings in a long time.At least in Halo you truely felt like you'd completed a great game with a strong sense of achievement as well as wondering what could possibly come next, as a pose to
putting you against two absolutely terrible boss fights, setting you up for one or two more levels (after all, that last boss you fought couldn't possible be the final one. Remember the "epic" finale Crytek told us about?) before flying off into the rising sun, cutting the music and video ubruptly and rolling the credits
halo 3 has the exact same gameplay as halo 2 (as per gs and other reviews), where as crysis takes lots of neat features from other games, enhances its and present it in one nice package. so while halo 3 will feel quite like halo 2 but crysis will not feel like any game before

Cloaking was round before Halo 2 dude. Its how Crysis uses it that makes it new and unique. The four different mods, like I said, coupled with the unique dynamic enviroments allow for gameplay never seen before.
What has Crysis done new?Nothing at all. yeah, for the first few levels. Then it's a series of convoy missions and linear corridors.

Halo's single player campaign isn't exactly the greatest around, what with the Cortana level making me want to pull my hair out and toss my pet cat out the window and destory my 360. Crysis's game wasn't genre changing, but the same could be said for Halo as well. Giving Halo a 5/5 and Crysis a 3/5 is a disservice to the game itself. I had none of these bugs you mentioned and the AI was perfectly servicable for the open ended level design.
I still can't believe the amount of Damage Control hermits poop out against X-Play. Crysis is just graphics, the gameplay was only meh, more of the same far cry stuff.wok7Unbelievably wrong. Crysis's gameplay was far and beyond that of Far Cry, witht he four distinctm ethods of play, dynamic enviroments, and thousands of ways you could go about a situation.

PC Gamers are so deprived of new games that think Crysis is actually revolutionary, XDwok7We still have the most AAA, AA, and A titles and announced exlcusives. SOrry.
