No, Epic's SVO is the proper realtime GI which is far more complex and taxing. You either do something right or you don't. The ssgi in crysis doesn't look impressive and hardly something to brag about really. The area lights in crysis 3 is also dodgy, a lot of time it doesn't even behave as an Area Light should. Check B3D and you'll know.gpuking
Your logic is incorrect, comprises of incorrect premises.SVO is jettisoned overall, it's irrelevant.
Also, when you say "it doesn't look impressive" you clearly have no idea, global illumination algorithms are just the indication of hardware capabilities, the "look" thing is dependant upon art style and that is subjective.
I post on Beyond3D regularly so I have no idea what you're talking about.
"Doesn't even behave as an Area Light" you should drop out of this discussion.
KZSF doesn't have Real Time Global Illumination, Crysis 3 does.
A proper GI solution still looks far better than a cheap hack like the one used in Crysis 3, it's mathematically better and more real if you will. There has been plenty of instances where people have pointed out "Area lights" in C3 was not showing proper Area Light attributes.Someone is mad their precious next-gen exclusive can't do anything in realtime. I hope you remember your bet gpuking even though I know you will not accept the defeat.
Give me the alternative realtime GI solution in practice or shut the hell up. GG with all the funding from Sony can't even do basic things in realtime and I just haven't even touched the simulation part.
