KZ2 was the perfect example of quality over quantity.

I think Killzone fans have a bit of an insecurity complex, and constantly feel the need to explain why their game is *really* better than all of the other games people are essentially passing on it to play instead. So, they come in here and share their little theories about how it's like a certain type of car, it's quality over quantity, like a fine wine it does this or that, while the uncultured masses just pass it by for what's really an inferior product.

Keep on truckin' there KZ'ers. We all know you're playing the better game - we're just jealous and ashamed. I'm sure Sony is busy writing GG another blank cheque and unlimited timeline so they can make another crack at a game that makes an impact on the industry that goes beyond its hype train.

Shafftehr

Or, you know, it could be that I ACTUALLY THOUGHT IT WAS BETTER!

An industry complex? lol

and @AlfredCapone, wha???

I think Planescape: Torment is the best RPG, and my favorite game ever made. You can search my whole history and you'll never find me make a thread trying to tell people that. I'll bring it up when asked (IE - "What's the best RPG?") threads, at appropriate times as an example (such as here), but I'm not insecure enough in my belief - my personal taste - to try and tell other people that their preferred games are in some way inferior.

It's not that you liked it better that makes me think you might be a bit insecure in your position as a KZ2 supporter. It's that you choose to express that fondness by going out of your way to tell fans of another game that your game is "quality" while theirs is "quantity."

So according to your logic, everything in the system wars forum would be about insecurities, because last time I checked I thought this was a DEBATE forum!!!

I have no "insecurities" about a video game. lol

[QUOTE="Hanass"]

I thought the game sucked. It had nothing good but graphics. Controls were abysmal, story was terrible, multiplayer was very generic.

Hanass

What about the MP was generic? They did what any other AAA fps does, they took MP, and made it their own (in Killzone's case, doing it with realism and warzone)

Mostly the weapons were generic. There was the generic assault rifle, the generic shotgun, and the generic pistol.

Yea, but did you see the graphics on those guns!!!!! It made them funner to shootz :P

[QUOTE="DeadMagazines"]where does the quantity example fit in to your logic? ...all I see is a comparison of KZ2 to COD..MJ4040

Quality being KZ2, quantity being COD.

Maybe year after year COD games lol Honestly COD4 was the last and only COD game I will buy. I'm full MP wise Killzone 2, MGO, Uncharted 2 online, Ghostbusters online I don't have time for any other games online and that includes Mag.

Killzone 2 was one of the most generic FPS in a long long time, It played generic, its story was generic, its weapons? generic.
*the last good FPS on the ps3 was resistance 2 that was a great game*

The controls were archaic and slow and the update did nothing to fix it.
Motion controls were moronic they offered nothing in the way of good playability that couldn't have been done better, faster, and smarter with the face buttons.
Gameplay its generic cover? most people i know didn't even realize like me that it even had a cover system, Difficulty? my god the game was brain dead easy, 4 hours with only the knife majority of the time for easy, and the next difficulty up? i nearly beat it in 5 but had to take it back to blockbuster before the last fight.

The only thing it had was graphics and even then it only matched Gears 2 at its best in graphics it didn't surpass it.
The online from what i saw was a total rip of TF2 online with a few inane changes to make it seem different.

The story? and acting? my god some of the worst i've seen. The game was forgettable which is why dont remember character names enough to describe how bad the story was.
Oh and i should add the weapons generic, the truely good ones? sniper, and the one electricity gun? you got them a total of like 2-3 times in the campaign otherwise you were forced to use the stock weapons? why throw in good weapons and only allow them limited use?
The snipers motion sensing tech was idiotic! you had to hold the controller stock still any movement would skew your scoped movement.

KZ2 was the exact opposite to me. It was all flash and no substance. They basically copied many FPS's, but didn't improve on them in any substantial way. The only excellent part was the graphics. The rest was just good. Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Resistance, Resistance 2, were all much better games along with countless other FPS that I am leaving out.
