[QUOTE="uRan_Ehr"]Um, in Germany maaaaany hardcore games get advertised. Uncharted 2, Halo 3, Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4, Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 to name some majro titles. Nintendo is only advertising Wii Fit or Wii Fit plus.uRan_Ehr

Since when were those hardcore games?

Its true that Wii fit is much more casual then those but that doesnt make then hardcore

What are hardcore games then if not those major flagship IP's that are discussed by so-called hardcore gamers the whole day?

I would say a hardcore game is onethat targets a specific group rather then the masses. by mainly being very challenging andrequiring alot of dedication, etc

The games you listed are not hardcore titles they are just flagship titles.

Doesn't target Halo 3 for example a specific group by being only available for older gamers? :?

I just want some 3rd party support. I'd like Assassin's Creed on my Wii or some Brutal Legend. Heck The Wii finally got Call of Duty 4! where's Modern Warfare 2??

agentgamma

Give up on that. Never going to happen.

It will likely happen when (and if) Modern Warfare 3 is released.

Still not going to happen. Maybe a washed down bad port of Modern Warfare 3 which is going to fail. Wii wont get 360/PS3 multiplat titles, even if they do, they would be horrible ports as history has shown.

Isn't this all a bit hair-splitting about just one word. You could also say Nintendo should provide more stuff for their mature fans. I'm fine with all those Mario games but I also like to do some more action stuff.

There is no hardcore game. Only hardcore gamers.

If you play Tetris, Diner Dash, Wii sports and Bejeweled for 18 hours a day, everyday then thats ****ing hardcore gaming. I don't give a **** what elitist nerds tyring to elevate their particular tastes over anothers have to say.

Hardcore implies the amount of time invested into something. Good or Bad.

That's it.

Everything else is stupid system wars/intraweb bull ****.

And?

Those type of gamers probably have more disposable time, and therefore can play Halo or COD, or whatever popular game all day everyday.

Therefore they are spending a bunch of time playing games, thus Hardcore gamers. And if Halo is what they play, and they play it hardcore, then for them it must be a hardcore game.

You're trying to be condescending implying your taste in games is more "hardcore" and thus better or more refined as a gamer.

That's just nonsense and worse then the small children who think playing an M game make them mature. At least by being young they have an excuse.

You actually think you can differentiate a "hardcore" game or casual game based on your tastes or popularity.

That's laughable.

Your opinion means nothing.

Hardcore games do not exists. Only hardcore gamers.

AH yes, what a brilliant statement. It just goes to show you that 56.14 million wii units sold prove that the wii sucks. Yes, how smart of you.

Dycras

Uhh, Sales =/= Quality.

Just like the movie G.I. Joe. That abomination grossed about $105 million but scored a 32 on Metacritic. Same principles apply.

Uhh, Opinion =/= Fact

Just because you're a hardcore gamer and you don't like that now half of their games are casual, doesn't mean the system sucks. According to those parents and sisters buying the wii, the ps3 and 360 suck for only having nerdy games, and their opinions don't equal fact either.

Before you go running your mouth, I'm well aware of the quality games that are one the Wii and the different demographic that it targets. I was merely stating to to bowswer3 that sales doesn't equal quality, which is what he was implying.

Wii ads are hilariously bad, mostly. It does contribute to some of the console's image, but there are other factors with a greater influence (and I will not discuss those here as it would derail the topic).

Now that we're on the subject, if you look closely at Wii ads on TV, you'll notice that, if there's a female involved in the portrayed gaming session, she will ALWAYS win.

True maturity lies in gameplay, not in presentation.
