Lair and R&C are way bigger flops than TP and MP3...

I cant believe that when someone is talking about the R&C floppage, cows bring up TP and MP3 as counter ownage... it doesnt make any sense. MP3 and TP were hyped AAA and they got high AA. Rachet and clank got a 7.5...that is a whole other catergory of game. the same category as elebits and bwii. secondary good games. Even though all 3 of them flopped in terms of expectations at system wars... it is clear to see who ended better off.

PS: im sure R&C is a great game and i believe it deserves at least a 8.0. What did ign give it? a 9.4.... that i think was really pushing it... i guess the ign ps3 team is dying for good exclusives.

Not even fair comparing Lair to any game :lol:. Lair was one of the biggest flops I can remember for a game ever when compared to general hype to overall scores.

either way you look at it r and c tp mp3 blue dragon and call of duty all recieved lower scores than what they should have gotten. farsendor

Yeah dude, I beat blue dragon the other night, that game was a phenomenal old school rpg!

All of those are superb games (Except Lair) and i couldn't care less if they're flops or not

TP and MP3 aren't flops in my mind. TP in this rating system would have gotten a 9.Gamerankings!

Great games, but neither of those hold a candle to the massive floppage that TP was. I'll never forget. Every sheep were hyping it AAAA forever and then found out the GameCube version was superior to the "almighty" Wii version.

Twilight Princess was the biggest flop of all of those. It was the reason to buy a Wii and the next game in the Zelda series. It was hyped high AAA and even AAAA by some. Sparky04

people talk about TP like it got a 7. it missed AAA status by .2. i still dont see that as a flop. the game was amazing and i loved every minute of it. but how bad is an 8.8 really?

yea lair flopped hard. i could not have predicted something that bad. r&c desereved a way higher score. metroid was a little disappointing to not get AAA, i havent played it yet, but i believe from everything ive heard and read that its an accurate score. ill know for sure when i finally play it for myself.

If we're going by reaction of the flop, TP wins. If we go by biggest flop (hyped a certain level and failed to get even close), it'd be Lair.

But I don't really care either way, as long as people don't view games like TP as crap just cause they flopped here. I haven't played the other 3 so I won't comment there.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it was because the game wasn't that good.

I remember some guy on SW was making all these threads about R&C saying it was AAAA GOTY confirmed. and when some one said they though SMG would score/be better he totally flipped out and flamed em.......I havn't seen that guy around much anymore.

It is a great game. The controls take MP to a new level. The review was contradicting itself in so many places. It's a good thing, that it's like the past games in the series. I actually found it hard, but if you find it too easy there are 2 other difficultys.

I see that your post needs editing..but most sheep have accepted MP3, but there are still quite a few that haven't with TP, more than what should be after a year at least.

GS wasn't used to using the wii remote+nunchuck for zelda. New zelda fans would easily tell you it deserved a 10, like my little brother or my hardcore sony fanboy of a friend who bought the wii 'cause of the price.

All of those games delivered awesomely under intense scrutiny. Lair is the only one that massively underachieved.

R&C is AAA everywhere else, TP is AAA everywhere else, MP3 is AAA in a lot of places. All are great games. They sold well or are selling well. They gave gamers what they asked for in spades. great post agree with everything you said. lair would have been much better if we didnt have to use the sixaxis like have to move the dragon kinda slowly.

thanks neil you described it pretty nicely ill eventually play this game when i can find a wii was able to play tp at my cousins but he doesnt own mp3 and he moved. but that sentence its a good thing,its like the past games in the series. that really hyped me up to owning this game someday. farsendor

An 8.8 review is not a good game? According to Gamespot, it's a "Great" game, only 2% shy of a "Superb" game. Isn't Gamespot your Holy Bible? Isn't Jeff your prophet? He says that TP is a great game.

It's hilarious how some of you let GS influence you so much. The R&C review was the last time I took Gamespot seriously. It's nice for a reference, but it is not the be-all and end-all. R&C is one of the only "A" games I have bought in years, and man am I ever glad I did. It is easily a AAA game.

Gamespots MP3 review was a joke, plain and simple. You'd have to be blind not to see that. Not the score, but the review. TP, however, I admit could have been better. All in all, I preferred Majora's Mask.

Sheeps denial about what? Tp did flop on gamespot compared to all the hype it was getting. But, the game is a masterpiece according to every website that's not Gamespot.

So, was TP a flop.. no way, GameRankings will tell you that. The game was amazing.

But whenever on Gamespot, TP was the first of major flops of this gen.. and thats why it'll be brought up each and every time.
