Lair. GOTY 2007?! I think so, Gameplay Video

To be totally honest with you, with all the heavy hitting games coming out this year. Everything from Mario galaxy, MGS4, Halo 3 and Killzone I honestly see Lair taking the crown for GOTY 2007 my reason is this.  Because the graphics, amazing sound and beatufiul art direction and scope of the game will really push it. Not to mention this is a new IP and also it is very original and will be innovative with the six axis controls. While MGS4, Mario and Halo will be great games they honestly wont bring anything that fresh to the table. I mean, I love all the franchises but I mean we have to admit that Halo and MGS4 will be pretty much the same as the previous installments while Lair is heading toward a whole new direction and will be freshly original and it looks to be shaping up to be one of the most epic games of all time.  

People are really overlooking this game and as it stands now there is no denying that what we have seen so far as far as scope and graphics is better than any other game out right now. I really see this game being a huge hit and getting GOTY 2007 for its overall gameplay, graphics, sound, story and just overall orginilatiy. Watch the vid, enjoy and discuss:D

I really don't see the big deal with Lair.  I mean, it looks fun but nothing truly amazing in my eyes.-The-G-Man-

 Agreed. I think the game will do ok, but GOTY, I doubt it. At least the PS3 will have another game that might be worth playing. We'll see how the reviews fair.

Made Gears what it is... 

Lair looks great and will be great...... but doubtful GoTY. Lack of multiplayer alone kills any GS score. I hate GS scores.... never really based off of how truely good the game is for what it is trying to do.

It don't look incredibly horrible , but it also don't look great either. It's not one of those games you feel you got to have like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, The Darkness and there may be a couple I'm forgetting.

Sony needs their developers to release some Killzone 2 footage or some other game cause the Ps3 needs more people to be interested in it.

to be successful in SW, never hype anything too much, and that's why I envy Lems. Think about it, if you hype a game AAA and i gets AA, it'll be a disappointment. But if you hype i A and it gets AA, it can only be better.

lol the on-foot fighting looked freggin terrible.  the the transitions between normal fighting and dragon-fights needs to be much more smooth. 

 and let's hope they get those framerates up.  I am not impressed by what I've seen so far.

From what I've seen Lair doesn't seem to be in that category. 

I mean lets look at the other GOTY Contenders..

MGS4- Wont happen simply because its MGS4 and its nothing new. Grant it, it will be amazing but it wont be GOTY.

Halo 3- Same principal as MGS4, nothing fresh just another great sequel to a great game

Mario Galaxy- Will be great but then again, how long has it been since a mario game actually got GOTY?

Metroid Prime-Again will be amazing but how long since a Metroid game got GOTY

Crysis-Very possible GOTY

Killzone-Another possible GOTY if Sony can pull off what they are trying for with this game.

Warhawk-Graphics will hold it back while it will still be one fun game

Ratchet and Clank-eh, will be good but simply not GOTY 

Mass Effect-Another good contender for GOTY. Very possible, looks good so far.

Bioshock-Will be mid to high AA, just doesnt look appealing.

I think Lair has a pretty good chance if you ask me.

Im sorry dude but if you say you werent the least bit impressed your just a blind fanboy.. Pure and simple, look at the physics and water effects in the first few seconds of the vid. Grant it the foot battles could use some polish but still looks better than any game out now period.

ok so basically what your saying is.. God of war 2 and oblivion scored bad because of no multiplayer and bioshock, lost odyssey and mass effect will score bad as well because of no multiplayer?

Actually didnt Killzone Liberation score a 8.2, almost on par with MGS3 which was 8.7, technically the latest installment of KZ which is KZ liberation scored AA.. Same a MGS, so yes IT is in the same league

Again, do some more research.  get your gaming IQ up to the level of everyone else's.  look around you and notice that NOBODY ELSE agrees with you that this game is a GoTY contender.  It's not even getting AAA hype here.

Spore doesn't interest me but I'm sure if it does good it'll be on the 360 since PC gaming is plumeting for many reasons , one of them being all a person has to do to get a PC game is get it from a torrent site.
