I think EGM's review is going to end up at the bottom of the scale, but even if every reviewer agreed with EGM, it would hardly be the biggest flop of all time, I mean it's only been hyped for a month or two. Killzone, MGS3 and Twilight Princess all crush it in terms of sheer shocking floppishness.

Are you kidding me? Cows have been hyping lair since before the release of the BS3 um its hyped AA. MGS 3, Killzone and TP were hyped AAA, Halo Killer, and AAA GOTY. all 3 flopped.
allthough MGS 3 and TP were AAA everywhere else.
Killzone sucked everywhere.
So really biggest flop of all time belongs to Killzone.
I have a subscription to EGM but I always ignore the reviews sections. Most of the scores I've seen from them aren't too spot on.
Anyways, it looks like almost every game except for Persona 3 got raped this month by EGM.
Hell even Blue Dragon received some pretty subpar scores (6.5 EGM) and it was given quite a bit of praise from other review sites.
As a result, I'm just going to assume that the EGM editors are cranky this month so I'll wait for the GS and IGN reviews before I make any decisions on purchasing Lair.
Bottom line, I like EGM and their magazine because have great journalists. They suck ass when it comes to reviews though.
I honestly don't trust any gaming magazine anymore, with the exception of EDGE, and even then, I put my own opinions on what I've seen on a game ahead of anything else.

Actually, hype has slowly been dying down for this game for several months, it's not a sudden thing, also, I'd like to add, that I am also still hyped for the game.
I think alot of cows coped out in the official hype thread for fear of ownage. They talk all big until it's time to show your hand then they run away. Lemmings sort of did the same thing w/ 99 nights cause they new it sucked once they got ahold of the demo.
Why some fanboys hyped this game I could never understand. The graphics look pretty good, nothing fantastic. But what will kill this game is the actual gameplay, and how quickly it will get boring.
Myself and many more care about reviews from all over the place. The opinions of many will always be more important than the opinion of one ,atleast when reviews are conserned.......
Yea the game is shaping up like so with these 2 recent reviews. When I saw the vids from a month ago looked like they fixed the controls a bit with that 180 degree turn, which made the game looks more interesting to me, but ultimately I think this game is going to be very repetative and I guess the controls are just too broken for the game to be enjoyable. I guess they are gonna have to cut back on sixaxis control in the next game.
EGM does go way off the norm some times. There have been plenty of AA games here I've seen with straight 5s like that in EGM (used to get it for years). They have different tastes and expectations I guess. They definitely rate a lot lower and it seems 5 there actually means they thought it was AVERAGE and not neccessarily bad. Average score most places is about 7. Virtually guarunteed to get at least A here. The hype is AA. I wouldn't call it the biggest flop of all time unless this game was getting like 5s across the board.
oh wow one mag thats well know for being way off the mark 90% of the time says its a 6. We also have another that is know for being way off as well that gives it a 9. So please tell me how either one of these give anything solid to base success or failure on? Why don't we wait until IGN or gamespot rate them

nah, that game is great.
and if LAir gets a 6...... come on now...
zelda tp was hyped a looong time by sheep as a GOTY and it failed , not even AAA and on top of it GC outscored the wii version that by sheep it was supposed to be better because of the wiimote
Wii version is much better. so, i really disagree. see what i did here. i decided to rule against the mighty review. i suggest people decide for themselves
