Lair now has three 9.0 reviews; EGM the only hater so far

More leaked scores show that Lair gets a 9.0 from Edge and GameZone. EGM so far has the suspect joke score that may end up not being taken seriously by anyone:

EGM ---5.5 (6 ,5.5 ,5.0)

PLAY UK --9.0

GAMEZONE --9.0

EDGE ---9.0 (LEAKED . the papaerback magazine would be out in a few days)

GAMEPRO --7.5 (praised everything except the controls)

PLAY has been confirmed by Gamerankings. I myself don't know about Gamezone and Edge though...

Play isn't always a reliable source(gave ps3/360 Sonic an 8.5 lolz), however the person that reviewed Lair has an accurate review history. Gamezone is a website, but no Lair review is posted there.(Unless their is also a magazine called Gamezone?).

umm...2 of the 5 are sub AAA....in fact, 2 of the five are sub AA. I wouldn't necessarily say that this game is tearing it up in the review category.

Also the only magazine I heard of was Gamepro. I thought EDGE magazine was a metal magazine because... I subscribe to them.

It's amazing to see how quick people are to dismiss sites that don't agree with what they think the score should be. I could just drop my lowest mark in school and call it a day.

I've been dissing on Lair for a while now after those bad reviews, but if Edge really did give it a 9 then that's actually impressive, because they're pretty infamous for being strict.Zeliard9

Nah Edge is a gaming mag. I read it in the shops few times. They seem to be harsh in there scores from what i remember but of course it depends on who reviews the game at the end of the day. A nice demo would be nice. Im not picking lair up as its not my type of game but id like to have a quick play.

Of those names listed, I've only ever heard of Gamepro, and EGM. They both gave it mediocre to average scores. Not sure if Ive seen EDGE

What I dont understand is why NOONE, and I mean noone, EVER stands alongside with what they sided with or said earlier.

You people change sides more often than Paris Hilton changes her hair.

First everyone is bent on counting the GameSpot review as THE review to look at while looking at games, then 2-3 rumored reviews are released and everyone all of a sudden has a change of heart?

Quit being fanboys and wait for the review that counts.

They also gave Gears of War a 10 and we all know how that ended up here. Plus Bioshock got at a 9.5 from PC Mag and Gamespot just last year gave Bioshock GOTS at E3 so it is a safe bet that Bioshock probably gets a 9.5 or above here at GS.

The best Lair gets here is an 8.0.

Trust me - I would never, ever, EVER trust GameSpot's review of a non-port, PS3 exclusive game. In any case, how can anyone expect a PS3 exclusive to reach the lofty AAA standards set here by Perfect Dark: Zero? :roll:

I haven't flip-floped on the opinion that one review does not determine a game's worth, SW rules or not. Now that multiple reviews have praised this game while one has only truly based it, I am truly sold on Lair. Good thing too, I bought a PS3 back in the day for this game, before the sixaxis controls were announced. Gamespot should be around an 8.0. I've said that since the beginning. Never have I changed my stance that this will be AA at the very least (I had hoped AAA, but whatever) and looks to be turning out that way.

Review average thus far (consider EGM at average of 5.5)= 8/10 or 80% = AA.

It's hilarious to me that everyone's screaming "links, links" to these review scores when there was practically 0 confirmation that the EGM and Gamepro scores are even legitimate in the beginning. We've got link from N4G (which has linked to forums before...it's basically like looking into your own butthole for truth) and a few forum links and something that supposedly confirms that the EGM review is true.

But we have yet to see a scan of any one of these reviews and, to my knowledge, Gamerankings is barren thus far.

Can we give this debate a rest already, g-dammit?

Gamepro, Play, and EGM are real. The guy at Neogaf scanned the cover of the mag to prove he had it. He wouldn't scan the review itself though, cause he doesn't wanna get into a lawsuit.
