I really can't believe people think its a bad thing - It's much better than releasing a patch later especially when the game is to be released for a console where most of the users have the pop and play mentality. People should appreciate the fact that the developers are atleast trying to make some improvements to the gamenaval
I agree. They're delaying the game to likely add an alternative analog control scheme. That's a very good thing, or at least, very smart. It may not reflect that well on them as in "do these guys really have their **** together?", but at least it shows that they're not afraid to accept criticism and to even act on it.
Of course, they didn't admit the real reason for the delay, but we all know. No developer is stupid enough to delay a game literally 2 weeks away from release only to spruce up the online leaderboards. It has to be for something quite serious, like the way the game controls, and there are very few things more important in gaming than that.
Think about what's worse: not delaying the game and pissing off probably a lot of consumers and garnerning even more bad reviews and negative word-of-mouth (which means even less sales), mostly because of your control scheme, or delaying the game slightly to fix the issue with the controls and probably end up putting out a more successful product? It's a no-brainer. The only people owned by this are cows who hyped Lair up to be this amazing AAA game.
