Last Gaurdian will not be AAA.

Am I the only one unimpressed by Last Gaurdian's "art dirrection" It looks very similar to SOTC imo climate wise. The whole premise doesn't sound very exciting either... Why not just give everyone the SOTC2 they want ... Oh they are artists :p

It more than likely takes place in the same universe just as SOTC took place in the same universe as ICO [spoiler] or vice versa if you could make sense of the endings. ICO might have taken place quite awhile after SOTC leading you to believe that wander is an ancestor of ico. I'm hoping here will be a similar situation within the last guardian as well [/spoiler]

AAAE or not the game will be incredible/I can almost guarentee that I'll be extremely pleased with it just as I was with ICO and SOTC. Personally, I preferred ICO to SOTC but many will disagree with me.

I beat Vanquish in under 6 hours on its hardest difficulty. That game got AAA. TLG has a chance get real. GOW 3 got AAA as well. Batman AA got AAA. In the end, it depends who reviews the game so our opinions are a mute point.

SOTC2? Eh no thanks.

Anyway I liking what is shown of The Last Guardian so far and even if it gets AA I will get it.

I wasn't aware this had AAA hype.

It looks very similar to SOTC and ICO because its set in the same "universe" as those two games.

Man... people just don't understand what Ueda is creating with these games. Which is probably why TLG will most likely be only 80 on Metacritic and highly acclaimed as one of the best games ever made by Ueda's fans.

I can care less if it is an AA title. So was SotC and ICO and those are two of my favorite games of all time (especially SotC). Also LG shares a similar art dirction because all the Team Ico games are connected in some way.

I don't see how being similar in art style to one of the best games of all time is a bad thing.

Yah, it's one of those games that seem to be immune to criticism.

In fact the only other game similar to it I can think of with that same immunity would be Portal.

I personally think it will be a somewhat flawed game that may deprive it of AAA but who cares? If it's like Ico/SotC then it'll have qualities that make it rise above mundane things such as score and perceived "perfection".

Edit: I hope LG has a very similar art style to SotC as well. It's awesome.

If you don't agree with the rules here, why don't you go post on a site that doesn't discount those websites? All long time posters/members here know that to distinguish between flops, we use gamespot hype and scores only. The titles are AA on here and for the discussions we have about them on here. It reduces the confusion.

Also, I'm more of a Sony/PS3 fan than a 360 or Wii fan (wouldn't necessarily consider myself a fanboy), but I understand that's how the rules work here. And real fans of the series can care less what the game scores, cause in most of our eyes, the games are 10/10s and that's all that matters.

I think you are going to be alone here. SOTC and ICO are games that are not subject to fanboyism. For some reason, gamers all over the globe acknowledge their amazing quality. Its like sex, but videogame worldly like. Everybody loves it.

Seriously. They may not have the highest scores, but they are what gamers and developers want.

Well considering that SotC didn't get AAA I guess Last Guardian will have to really fight for it.

I would like to know more about the gameplay. I know a lot of it will be nothing but roaming and exploring, but even that was pretty rewarding in SotC because of the amazing art direction and amazing atmosphere.

You take them as "this is better than that". But normally that isn't the case. The concept of mainstrem and the audience that would grasp the concept is also, as a matter of fact, indicative of the score.

If a person can just walk i n the game, find a storyline and flow with it, that game will be received as positive from reviewers and gamers all along.

If a game feels storyless, you have to find your path to the next monster, understand the puzzle behind the weakness of the monster, etc. it's bound to score less because if they give a 9-10 it doesn't only mean it's a good game, it also means it's thought for almost any kind of gamer, not just particular lovers of the genre.

That's my view on the matter of scores.

Why do people keep saying it isn't AAA? Isn't 9.0 AAA?

Or are we only using Gamespot, & not metacritc? (or gamerankings, whatever it is Gamespot uses).
