They already are. COD is basically the definition of what an MMOFPS would be, as it pretty much is one.

Last gen was fps, this gen is fps, next gen will be fps as well.

Singleplayer will die out and I'll start playing Mahjong.

As long as theres still a few rpg games from Bioware, Bethesda, CD Project Red, Square-Enix, Namco (Tales) and Atlus I can have something to look foward too. Unfortunately FPS's probobly won't go away, I don't hate the genre, Bioshock was quite good, but I really don't care for any of the others. I think it will stay about the same, shooters being the most mass produced genre with a few gems in the action adventure, rpg and such genres. Personally, I would love to see the rise of jrpgs again on consoles, not handhelds, but there are too many "bro" gamers or so called "hardcore" gamers for this to happen.

RPG hybrid. We saw a bit of it this gen with some great games. Next gen it will take over :PSaltyMeatballs

Hopefully not more FPS. Anything would be fine as long as we don't get more shooters. I would satisfied seeing mmo's, racing games, platfromers, or rpg's take over next generation.

You sound like your 13 years old....... The witcher is a great series, but not for the immature reasons you posted. And I wouldn't say its better than Mass Effect or Dragon Age either, but thats my opinion. Why only have one developer? Play all the WRPG's from all the companies = much more entertainment.

For Wii owners, this gen was Platformers - two 3D Marios, one 2D Mario, a new Donkey Kong platformer, two Kirby games, de Blob, and four Sonic games (though only one was truly great). And maybe Super Paper Mario if you count it.

But yeah, I'm going with either Action/Adventure or the third-person shooter as my choice. I predict people will get tired of shooters - they got tired of WWII shooters, at least. It's only a matter of time before the modern shooter goes the same route, methinks.
