I enjoyed episode 7, although I never played the DLC so I can't really say how much it aligns with the source material.

My only complaint is it was a missed opportunity to have Marlene come in to discover them, bringing her existence from earlier in the story full swing circle.

Two episodes left seems about right. Next episode will be with the cannibals and final episode making it to the hospital.

I am watching these still, but i gotta say, its not too fun to watch when you know what happens next. And i didn't like the actress that played Ellie at the beginning of the show, and nothing has changed still (on episode 6).

Mortal Kombat creator loves the show for having Mortal Kombat Easter eggs, I wonder why.

This is what Marvel movies have done to an entire generation: instead of having critical thinking skills, people think cameos make otherwise average and mediocre works good just for them being there, and it's even better when it's your cameo.

I'm good. Pretty certain it sucks like most praised media today. Good for being a videogame adaption perhaps, which says basically nothing at all.

Saw their account (and creator) claim "it breaks the video game curse"

Which is kinda bullshit. Not even recently. If you're a fan of something like Street Fighter II for example this is dope AF. And came out in 1994.

This was much better than live action jean claud van damme street fighter movie which was bad parody lol

Ryu looks like some wanna be bruce lee. guile is protagonist of SF?? are you kiddingg me??

Street Fighter: The Movie is actually more enjoyable than 98% of vidya game movies.

It's terrible yea, doesn't mean it's not fun.

@SolidGame_basic: It wouldn't work nor the execution and thank goodness Pedro Pascal got the role as it needs to match the characters likeness and try to do as little changes to the characters as possible. Netflix RE was all over the place with so many changes and its why it failed so badly. Nothing against Mahershala Ali, he's a great actor but I'm not a fan of race-swapping unless it's a good reason. At least I enjoy Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker.

Enjoyable but paced to shit. The entire season. Characters suffer because of it. Not to mention the changes they make. It's not necessary or it clashes with the game.

Don't have high hopes for season 2 considering what a flashback mess that was in the game.

While the show started better than the game did, it now feels like the show isn't doing the game's story much justice.

I get they're pressed for time, but maybe they shouldn't have wasted two episodes on the Bill story or Ellie's flashback to her friend in the mall.

The David part of the story felt glossed over, I liked in game for a second there was a bonding moment while they waited for the medicine but the adaptation felt like it was just going through the motions. When he mentioned his people being attacked by a crazy man and a kid that was a big **gulp** moment in the game, here it felt unremarkably executed. Or even the moment Ellie was in the cage and David was getting creepy with her, done better in the game too. They did all the same stuff, key lines ("tiny little bits"), just didn't deliver the same.

I get to a degree it'd be hard to sell a lot of the game's major fights considering in the game you kill countless people. Still, I feel they dialed much of it down maybe too much in other ways.

It wouldn't surprise me if more than half the final episode is wasted on a flashback to Ellie's mom and her relationship with Marlene, and whether the season even ends the same way the first game did at the hospital.

No desire to finish this show since they half assed cast Ellie to an annoying teen who thinks she knows everything while making Joel a sissy who's just a shadow of his self from the first game.

We go from Andor/HotD to Last of Crap/She Woke, seems shows are ether really good or complete garbage. Hell even Mando season 3 seems like Bo Katan is carrying the hell out of that show.

The show feels pretty low budget compared to the game. That one episode with all the Clickers running out of the ground felt like a desperate attempt to make up over the fact that you can count the rest of the Clickers through the series with one hand, and most of the Clicker moments were brief and underwhelming. It's a shame there was not more Clicker action in this series. That's kinda what I was expecting coming in but it turned out to have a disappointing lack of.

There's been a disappointing lack of action in general in the show. The show has been a lot more interested in the melodrama rather than captivating the suspense and misery of this post-apocalyptic world.

I'm just glad we're finally at the last episode, so my commitment to this show is finally over and I can move on to better things that don't feel like such a chore to sit through.

Was watching the Acadamy Awards... but damn, even after cutting down on excessive acceptance speeches it still drags out forever. I'll watch the finale of TLOU and read who got what Oscar later.

Lol this is exactly my brother. He's never owned a Playstation console. Bought a PS5 while already owning all the Xbox's and played through TLOU 1 and 2 and said that he didn't know single player games could be this good. He was used to the Halo and Gears styled campaigns of running to a waypont to unlock a cutscene and then running to the next waypojnt to watch yet another short cutscene.

Many people switched from PS2 to Xbox 360 after Sony fumbled the PS3 straight out of the bag (poor consumer messaging, high price of $600, overall lack of quality games for the first couple of years).

Also, you can thank Naughty Dog for PS first party games looking so good- all of Sony's internal studios use ICE technology originally created by developers over at ND.

First and last episode are my favorites. Final episode they played it pretty close to the source material, and I'm glad they had the giraffe bit here as well.

Overall I felt like the series was better in the sum of its parts, a bit of a mixed bag for me.

I was not a big fan of some of the deviations that changed the story path outright, whereas others I appreciated for developing new background layers and context for the existing story. Several deviations felt completely useless; like the episode where they got ambushed in the city. They had to give the Raiders a whole backstory and introduce entirely new characters that lead them. They went completely no where with these characters outside of this episode, and they felt very contrived for the sole belief that everything must be explained to the audience. We really did not need to know much more about the Raiders other than them being a threat to Ellie and Joel, and many cases telling less tells a lot more. The episode could have been greater focused on Ellie and Joel trying to get away from these people and with great suspense, but instead it spent too much time with new characters that amount to being nothing more than one-off characters.

The writing was a mixed bag to me. A few episodes felt too on the nose with feeling telegraphed like a video game NPC with little to no nuance to the dialogue beyond characters taking turns exchanging lines, whereas other episodes it felt more organic and natural.

Some of the melodrama was fine, but I'm disappointed by the surprising lack of Clickers in the series. I suspect it could have been a lack of budget to go all-out on some of the major Clicker set pieces that were present in the video game, so that was disappointing to me that they pretty much skipped right over much of them from the game as if they never happened. Most of the handful of Clicker moments were quick and not very impacting with the suspense either.

Overall, not bad, not great either. Respectable for a video game adaptation? Sure. But the bar is low so that's not really saying much. 7/10

Very impressed with the show, and everyone that i know that watched it and hasn't played the games all loved it and are super impressed by the whole thing. Some lines Bella did were a lot better than the game I felt. The expressions were I think better as well. The original game they manually did the expressions and its amazing how well that worked but seeing actual people and their expressions just feels more personal.
