Last Time I Ever Go To GameStop

WTH I am never going here ever again. For now on I am ordering all my games online from Amazon or Ebay.

I went to Gamestop today to pick up "The Last Of Us" preorder. When I was picking up the game, the girl at the counter was harassing me.

Want to preorder Beyond Two Souls? Want to Preorder Batman? How about PS4? I said no. She went on and on about what I was missing out on with beyond two souls. Gosh darn who said I was interested in the game in first place? Anyways in the end she spent about 4 minutes blabbing about a game she did not even know I was even interested in, trying hard to get that preorder. Telling me if I did not preorder I would be missing out on a great game and it would be a bad decision not to preorder, WTH trying to make me feel bad about not giving into her Bullshit. (I plan on buying B2S when it goes down to $30, just not at $60, need to keep money aside for PS4).

I left gamestop feeling kinda harassed like I cant ever go in there, buy a game and leave in peace.

I will never buy from gamestop ever again. I had it. Add to cart on Amazon and Ebay for me, screw his begging and harassing crap. I can do without these social reactions.

Seriously, welcome to the world of retail, where the employees have to push store memberships and preorders in order to keep their jobs.

She has to do that to keep her job..

I stopped shopping at Gamestop when they kept trying to pass off used games as new.

That's why I stoped going there a long time ago. I miss FuncoLand :(

How I would handle it; just cut them off in their pitch and in a stern but even tone say, "Look. One of two things can happen here. You can sell me the game right now. Or I can just buy this elsewhere and they'll get my money. What's it going to be?"

But then shopping at any of the other stores is the preferrable option in the first place. Shouldn't have to give gamestop the choice then ;)

I am pretty sure if you were there, you would have known that this shit was Excessive and not be calling me a baby. I said no the first times and a few times later, she went on and on trying to force me and said "I was missing out big, your decission", when I never showed interest in the first place, WTH. I am not one to be completely rude to people, but gosh darn she did not take no for an answer which is rude and I am sure I am not the only one that gets driven away from how they do business, A little to persistent, begging is a better word.

All you calling me baby. I have been to gamespot a few times, but this time they went overbaord. If you were there you would know what I mean.

People at GameStop get fired if they don't get enough people to pre order games or sign up for PowerUp cards.

You make it sound like your being attacked. I always just say no thank you to all the stuck they try and sell me, I dont mind really I'm at a gaming store, and thats their job. Get it out of your head that these guys are out to get you. 

I think someone else mentioned this, but if they don't sell enough preorders and such, they don't keep their job. 

I've never been harassed like that, but if I did I'd just say, "Look, I know you're just doing this because you have to, but I don't want anything else. Just this." I'm pretty sure that would end it.

The only reason I still go to Gamestop is because they get a bunch of pre0order goodies.... I go in every so often and ask if they have anything left over and I have left with tsome pretty cool stuff. :)

However, I like opening my games so I will only buy a "new opened" (:roll:) game f it is like $20 to $30. I hate paying full price for "their last one."

If she was hot I probably would have ended up pre-ordeing.

Do you guys have to put a deposit down in the US? In UK you don't so you can just never turn up to collect your game, no harm no foul.

I probably spent about a thousand dollars a year on games and never once bought a game from Gamestop. Not sure why I hate a company that I have never shopped at.

Gamestop is going through a tough time. Investors always want to see higher profit each year.

The problem is that sales aren't going up, they are going down and down. So Gamestop is cutting their costs and one of their biggest costs is labor. Your hours and/or employment entriely is dependent on how much you sell. It is a horrible job. I use to work there.

That Gamestop store is prob. going through a tough time.

I know in my old store, the manager would get 50 hours but all the GAs would get like 10 hours or much less a week.
