Your warranty does not renew every time you have RRoD. I am a launch owner who has had 3 RRoDs. My coverage has been over, and yes, I am slightly worried about it.

I thought MS would have extended the 3 year warranty or something, but no. They haven't. I'd be pretty pissed if I was a launch owner.

IMO if it breaks after 3 years you should have to pay the 100$ repair fee, they can't cover you forever

In all honestly the 360 SHOULD have been recalled and i'm sure if people put up a big enough fuss the government would have stepped in, it's too bad lemmings just roll over and take it. They are totally getting screwed, or will eventually get screwed.

Recalls aren't issues for poor products. They're issued for unsafe products. The government has no role in this situation.

IMO they should've just recalled the whole product. $100 is a hefty tag for a company knowing they released shoddy hardware. And also my SNES still works to this day with no problems so I expect a $400 (at the time) console to do the same.

Yes, it does. If you bought a 360 on November 22, 2005 like I did, you no longer have a warranty, if you got RRoD or not.

The Better Business Bureau? The organization that rates companies so consumers can do their own research? Yeah, they might have lowered MS A+ certification to a mere A certification. That is, if it hasn't already been taken into account to their rating.

A year but the PS3 is a reliable system so if it doesn't die after a year most likely the system will not just a year later like most other hardware.

Because the game system that I've had for 3 years has never given me any problems? Yeah, you should definitely pity me. What if it were to RROD tomorrow? Oh no, I'd be out $100 to get it fixed. Or I could just go buy a brand new one for $200. Not an issue for those of us with decent jobs, really.

Damn that one dude went through 11 360's already ....every one of the people commenting on there went through multiple 360's. Why do you people buy this crap from MS? If it was from anyone else, you would of been all mad and boycotted the system and demanded a refund, consulted the better business bueara. I really hope California wins it's court case with ms!! And people need to wake up already! We have a great system out there that has more features, is built like a tank, reliable, and has most of the same multiplat games and better exclusive titles...full titles not just some crappy dlc. Come on people, sell that 360 and go buy a ps3!!!

It's comments and people like this is how MS has gotten away with putting out crap hardware. All you lems should of boycotted MS, asked for refunds or sold it and bought the competition when this first started happening. MS won't learn if you let them get away with murder....come on people.. you can't be happy when yours dies and you are without a console for weeks.

yea buying a 500$ PS3 is a better option then sending it in getting it fixed for free or if your 3 years is up just paying 100$

Thats besides the point, it shouldn't of been released in its state. They knew it was broken, they have admitted it was broken and sold it anyway just to get a head start. It shameful and plain wrong, that's not treating consumers right. It should of been quality tested before release, but they didn't and the machines are still doing it 3 years after. You people need to learn what the word Quality means. Are you going to buy a car that breaks down on you every 3000 miles and just be like oh well my warrenty covers the repairs, I guess I won't drive for 3 weeks....it's the same thing, you shouldn't have to be without console for any amount of time, and if you do it shouldn't be a worldwide problem .... MS was greedy and dissed it's consumers in more ways then one.

It's a real shame but that's the price of being rushed first to market.. Btw, You can't tell people to sell their 360's and get a PS3 especially if they're attached to the software that's released on the 360 already.. I can't get Halo 3 on the PS3.. I can't get Gears of War 1&2 on the PS3.. I can't get Mass effect on the PS3.. I can't get Ninja Gaiden 2 on the PS3.. I can't get PGR4 on the PS3.. I can't get Fable 2 on the PS3.. I could go on but why bother.. Besides you could purchase 2 360's for the price of the cheapest PS3 sku.. :?

Half those games are available on PC. And half those games you can't even play with the SKU you're mentioning ;)

[QUOTE="world69star69"][QUOTE="mattbbpl"]Just pointing out that a 3 year warranty is well beyond the standard for electronics. johnnyblazed88

MS was greedy and dissed it's consumers in more ways then one.

what about PS2? sony didnt even admit they made crap product and wouldnt do anything for you if it broke after a year except tell you to buy another

Yea... Sony fanboys seem to have short term memory when it comes to faulty hardware.. I went through 2 PS2's before I got one that lasted more than 2 years.. And Sony made you pay for the repairs depending on what they thought was the problem..

[QUOTE="OhSnapitz"][QUOTE="world69star69"]Damn that one dude went through 11 360's already ....every one of the people commenting on there went through multiple 360's. Come on people, sell that 360 and go buy a ps3!!!jharv

Ok so I'd have to upgrade my PC ($200-$500) and buy a PS3 ($400) to get the same enjoyment I would recieve from an Xbox 360 ($200)... :| This does not compute.. :? BTW, you mind telling me which games I listed or out for that matter that I can't play on the Arcade SKU(FF XI is the only game that comes to mind)? Thanks a bunch..

It's a shame really. I've had my nintendo since 89 still play it and don't have to worry about it. But with the 360 it seem like once ms has moved on to thier next console I won't be able to play 360 games years down the road because ms didn't pay attention to quality. It's not a very good long term console at all.

johnnyblazed88
That's because they have no response.. The PS2 was a garbage piece of hardware (similar to the 360) until the last 2-3 years of it's lifecycle).
