Thanks TC I wanted to see this vid. Also the DS# and wand combo does seem werid. Though its seems the DS3 is only used for walking and aiming. Who knows maybe you can use 2 wands its just capcom wants to show you can still play it wihout picking an extra wand up.
Looks like playing a Wii, except worse since you have use the DS3 for movement. Motion controls will never be anything more than gimmick in my eyes anyway, they haven't drastically changed the ways games are played and probably never will. Silent-HalGimmicks can be good, every gimmick is not a bad thing, you know
How many people are going to play Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 4 Wii edition standing up ???? Raise your hands. The dualshock may look dumb , but it works perfectly fine for games like this.Grab a dualshock with one hand and rest it on your leg while playing. It may become a problem for some other games .... but not thesetypes of games.
An analog stick would be appropriate and enhance the control greatly. I don't know why they opted to not include one :?. But you know, these aren't the only applications for motion, and 1 wand + PS Eye should come in a pack together. That would make sense.Sony are retarded with the way they've decided to go about this. Let's see, you need an EyeToy and then you need to buy one wand and if you want the full experience you need to buy another wand. The main question that remains is why the hell they didn't put an analog stick for walking on the wand? When I first saw this at E3 I thought it had potential but the more they've unveiled the more they've shown that this will be nothing but a gimmick.

They could always add one, but having this way IS cheaper. And it really didnt look so bad considering RE5 doesnt have the best controls to begin with.Sony are retarded with the way they've decided to go about this. So it's basically RE5: Wii Edition on the PS3?rcignoniLooks like but is that bad? It should be good since major games can/will work.
So, you still need to use PS3's pad to control the character? Lame...Better stick to the classic one
And the guy who was doing the demonstration seemed like he was having a hard time to aim accurately, same problem as Wiimote.
Those motion thing are definitely not suited for games that involve shooting

how about you read on how mp 3 and conduit's controls have been praised? ir aiming is better than dual analogThere is nothing good about motion controls like this. It makes the games harder to control and it feels awkward. I was really excited for the Wii because i thought motion controls would be really good for all kinds of games but I was DEAD wrong. But i dont care, i wont be getting it (i just hope all next generation consoles won't have it).
Too bad they will, and read the post before you. There is nothing good about motion controls like this. It makes the games harder to control and it feels awkward. hoola
This is supposed to be better than the Wiimote? It looks the same, but with awkwardness added to the mix, lovely.tagyhag
Exactly what I was thinking, although they better add a patch to those that don't want to rebuy LBP and RE5.
motion controller in one hand and DualShock 3 in the other, looks pretty dumb in my opinion. MightyMuna
I agree if this is going to be the setup this is a huge fail. They need to make the other stick have some kind of analog control in it. They did demo E3 the use of two wands so one could have an analog stick on it. That would be easier to use than the DS3.

They should make one and its almost inevitable they will. This way does though make it so you only need to buy the one wand, which is not so bad if you already have PSEye.[QUOTE="3rdbass"][QUOTE="MightyMuna"]motion controller in one hand and DualShock 3 in the other, looks pretty dumb in my opinion. killzowned24

Nobody wants some half hearted effort like what it is shown in the demo. Give me two wands and a eye with one of the wands having an analog stick for movement. I'm sure if people are going to buy it they won't mind paying a little bit more if they have the most efficient setup as opposed to that hot mess that was shown in the video. Motion control is just a gimmick that needs to die.
Who needs the Wii now?
I can't wait to play LBP with superior motion controls.
:)
jakehouston88
umm...sorry, but that was all just point and click...the wii does that just fine now
what they showed was EXACTLY LIKE THE WII IN EVERY WAY!!!
even the most fattest cow can see that
You can aim perfectly with slight wrist movements with the wii.mote. I don't know if the Sony Wand can though...So, you still need to use PS3's pad to control the character? Lame...Better stick to the classic one

Resident Evil 5 Motion controls: Honestly, it's basically the SAME as Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. Maybe some *comfort* issues, but I don't see why if the controller is nestled in your lap :?. All you need is the analogue stick to navigate (like the Wii nunchuck). I took My Dual Shock and Wii-mote to try it out. It's not that bad, trust me. We'll see when it comes out.
LittleBigPlanet motion controls: Platforming looks perfect as if it were a game made for the Wii. But creating levels would have to be done with the Dual Shock.
I just tried to hold my Dual shock 3 in one hand. Is very uncomfortable for me. Im not digging that control scheme at all.loco145It's the same as the Wii nunchuck in your left hand IMO. Just rest the Dual Shock in your lap. There will be minimal movement and you'll have full control of the analogue stick. Then imagine if the wand was in your right hand :).
I think they should add an analogue nub on one of the motion controllers. Similar to the Wii nunchuck. Then the controls would be identical.

But it doesn't feel quite the same. The sixaxis clearly isn't designed to be hold with one hand (unlike the nunchuck). Maybe bigger hands than mine give a better grip...
That looks cumbersome as hell.. :? You have to (so far) use the DS3 and the wand.. It just looks silly as the guy stands there with these two bulky devices in his hand as he plays the game.. And the use of TWO people on LBP as opposed to one with wii motion or Natal.. This is terrible. I hope they implement something better before this thing launches, or else it will tank.

yep. basically with the wii + nunchuck setup you can play LBP that way as a single player. That looks cumbersome as hell.. :? You have to (so far) use the DS3 and the wand..
