It's the same as the Wii nunchuck in your left hand IMO. Just rest the Dual Shock in your lap. There will be minimal movement and you'll have full control of the analogue stick. Then imagine if the wand was in your right hand :).

you can wrap your fingers all the way around the nunchuck. you can't do that with the DS3. and also the analog stick isn't in as comfortable a position as the nunchuck.

There's no friggin way you can defend this control scheme (even for the hardcore cows).. Sony will have to do something like add another addition to the wand or they're screwed.

Ok, after looking at the LBP planet video, looks like the wand can't indeed aim based on angle, only on the ball absolute 3d position. Bummer :(

I agree hopefully Sony is aware that this scheme will not work and that was just purely done as they haven't finished the wand with the Analog control.

We already control characters with the Dual Shock's analogue stick in its *current* position (so PS3 gamers are already used to reaching their thumb over). Really, the analogue stick is barely an inch away from the d-pad.

It won't be 100% as comfortable as the Wii-mote nunchuck of course. But it's more than playable IMO. In essence it's the same thing. I have small hands and it's fine for me and I've played RE4 Wii.

Like I said before, Sony should add an analogue stick to one of the motion controllers.

The DS3 is meant to be held with two hands even if they are bigger. Sony is trying to hard to get their motion control out there too fast that they really aren't thinking straight about having a good product out there. I surely won't touch it and leave the motion controls to my Wii.

I guess Sony beat the Wii at its own game ;)

But Natal am afraid, will be the best in terms of how you control the game and playing on a top next gen game.

Have you played a PS3 game using the DS3? For PS3 gamers, it's not like it's something completely new for us to have to *reach* our thumb over to the analogue stick. We've been doing it for generations. Just with one hand this time instead of two (rest it in your lap for balance). I have small hands as well. I feel like a broken record :P. I'm confident it won't be THAT bad :).

Of course it's meant to be held with two hands, but that doesn't mean it CAN't be held in one :). As long as it's balanced in your lap. It does seem/look awkward lol, but I think it's fine for what it is. Hopefully they add an analogue stick!

I'll keep an open mind. I'm anticipating PS motion and Natal :). Imagine Wii controls with PS3/360 graphics! That's why I'm excited :).

I'm not fond of it either. I'm used to the Wiimote + Nunchuck. But at the same time I'm saying it could work even if it's a bit awkward and not EXACTLY the same as RE4 controls. Way to keep and open mind ;).

And why the *rolly eyes*? Sheesh man I was just asking a quesiton :?.

Yeah and I love Sony and my PS3's but I think Natal is going to be a bigger hit. It seems like a more solid technology and is different than the Wii motion contols unlike the wand contraption. Well I probably won't buy any motion controls at all since the Wii has given me such a bad taste about them.

It is so dumb the 2 games they showed were hinderede because of incompent design. Both games shouldn't need one wand and one dualshock (lbp could have been one player playing with one wand), and re5 should have used only one wand too. It is unbelievable that the two games they showed would have been significantly better if they added an analogue stick instead of a button.

Well if that is the final product I agree that Sony shouldn't expect this to help sales of their systems at all.

Seeing RE5 with Motion Controls = Wii fans upset

W1NGMAN-

why would they be upset when its almost universally agreed upon that RE4 >>>>>> RE5?

I don't know what to think, I'm not real impressed. But I understand it's still a work in progress. I'm just happy Sony is demonstrating with real games instead of all the casual crap everyone else is hell bent on chasing.
