LBP is an extremely successful game, bursting with innovation and charm and fueled by a highly enthusiastic PS3 community. I think, of all games, LBP is the one system exclusive that could not only do well being multiplatform, but is practicially destined to be. I wont happen, I know! But I have my reasons for dreaming about it:

1. Better On PC- The level maker already works by using a cursor and a menu system, and a PC i find would allow level makers to work much more efficiently. Simply put, using a mouse to make LBP levels would be much easier. And since level maker have to often type out dialogue and messages, having a PC keyboard is just a nice cherry ontop. Some of you might not know also that LBP2 players can manage and see their accounts on a special website. LBP PC would be directly linked to the website, and allow a better structuredonline experience for all players

2. The Ultimate Community- On PS3 alone, something like 4 million levels have been made for LBP2. The community is very active. Now just imagine if the PC, Xbox, and PS3 players could all be connected to the same LBP community to share levels with each other. Lets just say there would be more than 4 million levels available online! Now there is the matter of how an xbox player would play PS3 designed LBP levels. Lets be honest, the two controllers have the same buttons besides sixaxis. Therefore, the developers could easily have any PS3 controls translated into xbox controls or vice versa. The same could work for the PC. If a PS3 player made a level requiring sixaxis however, the developer could simply keep that level exclusive to PS3 players

3. Controls Are Easily Translatable- LBP2 allows you to set your own control scheme for your devices. Xbox and PC might not have sixaxis, but all the other PS3 controls can be easily converted into controls on the other systems. It also helps that the gamplay controls for LBP only involver grab, jump, and action.

So overall, the point is thata game that thrives on the enthusiasm of its community could only benefit from expanding its potential audience. What is your say, guys? Good or bad idea??

My first instinct would be to keep that lousy "game" on PS3 to rot.

But good points, TC. It really would do nicely on PCs.

I dont see why they should unless all they care about is exclusitivity...but i guess thats why they are cows lol Everybody would benefit from it, the PS3 players would see the online community triple in size...which means triple the number of online levels! Cant complain about that lol

Too bad that will never, ever happen.

Media Molecule is a 1st-party Sony developer.

There's about as much chance of LBP going multi-platform as there is Uncharted 3 going multi-platform.

I think it would be cool if they added keyboard and mouse support for the level editor. Other than that, the community currently rocks.

I'd only be upset if it meant a hit in PS3 graphics. If they make it multi-platform they won't have as much resources and time to optimize for PS3. The developer is owned by Sony so it doesn't make any sense anyway.

Sony owns Media Molecule.

Sony also owns the rights to LBP.

Media Molecule has also stated that they are done with LBP, they want to work on other franchises. Sony might want to use other developers to make the games, but Media Molecule says that they don't want to do LBP anymore.

The chances of it are slim to none. :(

It doesn't really suit PC. PC people want more game making tools than editing. Sure LBP can be pretty complex, but you are still using all the rules defined by the creators.

The main reason for it's success was bringing mod-like tools to the masses. But most PC gamers who want to create stuff are already good at mod making

Idk i could be wrong.

No because Exclusives makes the consoles different. If you want to play it buy a ps3. Making someting multiplatform increases the chances of its quality being reduced.

I think LBP is agme that needs to stay an exclusive. THe only reason it is such a quality game is becasue Sony trusted them and backed up Media molecule in their vision. Who knows what would happen if it went multiplatform. I think some games benefit from being exclusive and should stay that way. On another note, we don't need to see LBP3, Media Molecule should start something new.

Only real worthy justification that I wholeheartedly endorse. Anything else is just not worth it (if there's no incentives to not stick to the PS3).

This is as likely as Nintendo going 3rd party and making a 3d super Mario game for PC.

It just wont happen.

Maybe is they wait a while and make some massive improvements. I would like to see MM do something completely different.

No other game does multiplayer platforming as well as LBP, so I kinda don't. I'd like them to stick to multiplayer platforming at least. Somebody needs to fill the void other than the rare Nintendo platformer.

I just get bored with the same franchise every other year. I really don't have a need for another LBP. The first one was great but that was enough. THe second was was great but just more of the same. I am more interested in watching other peoples creations then playing.

You could say that about any exclusive game though...the idea itself is so wacky that no 3rd party publisher would have touched it. And if you look at the level of detail that went into making the games it would have been very difficult to do a multiplatform of that size on an indie budget.

Too many what ifs. If the PC and Xbox 360 want a LBP game they would make a similar game. Both systems have plenty of devs.
