LBP is an extremely successful game, bursting with innovation and charm and fueled by a highly enthusiastic PS3 community. I think, of all games, LBP is the one system exclusive that could not only do well being multiplatform, but is practicially destined to be. I wont happen, I know! But I have my reasons for dreaming about it:
1. Better On PC- The level maker already works by using a cursor and a menu system, and a PC i find would allow level makers to work much more efficiently. Simply put, using a mouse to make LBP levels would be much easier. And since level maker have to often type out dialogue and messages, having a PC keyboard is just a nice cherry ontop. Some of you might not know also that LBP2 players can manage and see their accounts on a special website. LBP PC would be directly linked to the website, and allow a better structuredonline experience for all players
2. The Ultimate Community- On PS3 alone, something like 4 million levels have been made for LBP2. The community is very active. Now just imagine if the PC, Xbox, and PS3 players could all be connected to the same LBP community to share levels with each other. Lets just say there would be more than 4 million levels available online! Now there is the matter of how an xbox player would play PS3 designed LBP levels. Lets be honest, the two controllers have the same buttons besides sixaxis. Therefore, the developers could easily have any PS3 controls translated into xbox controls or vice versa. The same could work for the PC. If a PS3 player made a level requiring sixaxis however, the developer could simply keep that level exclusive to PS3 players
3. Controls Are Easily Translatable- LBP2 allows you to set your own control scheme for your devices. Xbox and PC might not have sixaxis, but all the other PS3 controls can be easily converted into controls on the other systems. It also helps that the gamplay controls for LBP only involver grab, jump, and action.
So overall, the point is thata game that thrives on the enthusiasm of its community could only benefit from expanding its potential audience. What is your say, guys? Good or bad idea??
