very bad news. :? . I can't believe some people are saying this is good news. Though apparently the new "lead gameplay designer" was the "lead designer" for ME 1 and 2. I hope he can do a good job. ME 3 looks fantastic so far.

[QUOTE="lowkey254"][QUOTE="Birdy09"]I'm going to sound harsh for this, but good. The game needs better gameplay, and quite frankly if she is the lead gameplay designed making these dumbed down decision final then oh well, bye bye.Pug-Nasty

I agree.

What if she left becuase she was frustrated with management not letting her improve the gameplay?

Or, shock horror, as the article says, she left to get married and live with her husband.

Damage is already done, no? It said she worked on ME2 "and" Mass Effect 3. Most of what we'll be getting in ME3 will be from her work. But then again, we don't know how much they have improved from ME2. So far, I see some sort of barrel roll, melee combat, heavy melee class, and movement should be smoother? Sounds good I guess, but it also sounds like Gears of War on paper. I love the Gears of War series but I don't know if I want Mass Effect to be the same..

Given the change, the new lead designer might add or take out some things he did or did not like.

Can they really take out stuff that has already been shown to the public?

I'm sure it's the ppl in suits (publishers) who decide such major things about their games.

That's why most of the innovation and free thinking can be found in indie games.

Where's Mirror's Edge 2? Nah we get a CoD ripoff instead. etc.

If you want to blame someone it's the publishers, I'm sure developers are just as passionate for gaming as we are, they don't really want to sit and make map packs all day long, but they have to bring food to the table too.

Are you refereing to Battlefield 3 as a CoD rip off? carefull now... :P Your right to some extent, but BF3 is NOT a CoD Rip off!

The did for Infamous 2. Granted it was only the appearance of a character and people were REALLY upset about the change, but it still happened :P

at least its not peter monlyx replacing, other wise we'd have y for shooting, b for powers, and x for melee... a for sprinting/rolling then you'd pressed "start" to go into the inventory but it would beam you up to the ship, and you could run to your room to change cloths, then the equipment area to pick up new equipment, while your squad and all the enemies sit helplessly waiting for you to come back.

No wonder ME2 is not-so-hardcore RPG, because a woman lead the design. Women don't generally play RPGs. Their idea of an RPG is not that of BG2, but something more on-the-surface.

Still, the biggest lead of ME franchise is Casey Hudson.

MrSelf-Destruct
Casey Hudson is why ME2 wasn't hardcore. People named Casey suck at making games. It's common knowledge that if your name is Casey, you will make a game that people will not enjoy... because a Casey made it.

Casey made the most awarded game last year.

Lol. I knew someone would take that seriously. Not surprised that it was my good buddy, Texasgoldrush, either. I was just making fun of Ravenchromes' blatant generalizations.

Like Gandalf. I would kill to hear Shepard say "You shall not pass" to a gigantic Reaper :P
