Yeah thats the part I cringed at. The buildings were bad enough because some just got black marks like the ones you couldn't run into. But the lion statue should have broke. Maybe its just cos its alpha

I don't think that van he shot the RPG at blew up too. Hopefully it's to do with it being alpha and they haven't fully implemented what will be destructible or not.

What is this guy running this game on a toaster. He blames fraps. I'm not buying.

If I was EA I would falcon punch this guy in the Vag.

He is misrepresenting the game.

This is not how the game will look on my PC. I hope to god. With the lag, missing animations/frames. And complete failure of capturing a game.

This guy needs to stop. I would rather see the game with shakey cam. To prove it is not his PC/fraps that is causing the problems.

Has he posted his specs? He needs to post gameplay that he is actully seeing on his screen.

This stuff is garbage.

If I was Dice I would sue this guy.

It's all cosmetic damage really, I'm hopeing there is more of it when the game is launched.

I looked at all the new videos and all I thought while watching them was "This looks fantastic!".
It's not finished yet, but it's already looking top notch in my eyes.

Watching these videos is making waiting for it even harder. :cry:

Nah it's just another awesome addition just like dinosaurs!

I don't mind not being able to bring down buildings, but the amount of destruction I saw wasn't nearly as much as I was expecting. I'm actually disappointed it's not more.

It's all cosmetic damage really, I'm hopeing there is more of it when the game is launched.

Since it's still alpha, I'm guessing it's not all in there. Also it's just one map. We still got a lot more! Only map that matters is Karkand anyway :P

It's not all cosmetic since you can kill people with destruction :P I'm starting to think people just aren't using it and that's why we haven't seen more.

Everything is shaping up pretty well. Only serious gripe I have is the return of the teleporting COD commando knife from BC2. Why can the knife not be the 1337est of weapons like it used to be, where getting a kill meant smoething. Now you can just zerg rush someone and when you are close enough, teleport 10 metres for the kill.

People are disappointed because DICE tout how awesome their destruction is and then they show facade destruction and NO collapsable buildings (so far anyway) it could all be completely different come release but people are right to be annoyed by it. DICE are the ones who built it up to be this awesome, we just trusted them and went along.

There aren't a lot of buildings in the map we have seen, and the building areas people could go in were destructible.

Some new things that can be learned from these videos:

  • Glock 17, MP7, M1911, SV98, M27 IAR, G36C, M1014 are confirmed weapons

  • The mini-map can be enlarged

  • Unlike BC2, you can see your own legs when you look down.

  • M1014 has a four-round magazine. Expandable??

  • Rear knife kills are worth an extra 300 points

  • Below the ammo counter is a progress bar to the next unlock for that weapon

  • Aircraft can use an unlockable perk called "Stealth"

  • You get 10 points for having a squadmate spawn on you (if you're squad leader). A new video shows you get a 200-pt ribbon for many spawns.

  • You get 50 points for ending an enemy's kill streak.

  • The LAV-26 IFV has 6 shots before cool-down, like the M3A3 in BC2.

  • Body shots are not one hit kill with the SV98, like in BC2. How it varies with range, I'm not sure.

  • There is an "accuracy kill" ribbon

  • Players killed by falling debris is listed as "(Player) is no more" in the kill feed. Could this mean that kills by destruction don't count?

  • If the front sight post blocks the view of the optic, it won't be shown when in iron-sight mode, but will be shown in idle.

  • A silver star is worth 10,000 points.

  • Revives are now 100 points.

  • In the Shotgun/SV98 video, there seems to a lunge with the knife.

  • You can tell when your soldier is ready for a rear knife kill when you aim at the enemy's back and your soldier will lift his knife up and point it forward.

  • In the multiplayer montage, it seems that music will play when the very final M-COM is armed, and the song will climax near detonation

  • Attachment unlocks may be per weapon (than per **** like in BC2). In the sniper video, the player got enough points to unlock the ACOG 4X scope after using his MK11. Later, he picks up a fallen enemy's SVD, picks up some kills, and unlocks the PSO-1 4X (A Russian ACOG equivalent compatible with only AK-****rifles) scope. I don't know what to make of this, really.

  • In the destruction video, it seems that the parts of a building where a player cannot reach are not destructible. Instead, an explosion creates a small crater and some debris particle.

  • Spotting the squad leader puts a spot marker with a star above the player

  • You're awarded 10 points for killing the last member of a squad

  • In other videos, you can see what happens after you win a game. It looks like there won't be any cut-scenes at the end of a match; instead, you'll be taken to a review of your stats. Thisisstill only alpha stage though, so they could still throw in cut-scenes in the beta/final version.

So far Red faction: Gureilla and Armageddon have the best dynamic destruction engine. BF3's engine is a lot like BFBC2 from what i've seen. (even though its not bad)

  • Juddernawt:The music will play when the mcom is about to blow and when tickets get low. Attachments unlocks are per weapon like in MoH, as well as ribbon awards. The first specialization I unlocked was a Sprint Boost which is 5%, then Ammo Boost which is a 50% increase, and then another Sprint Boost which is 10%. You are able to use these with all kits. I have played maybe 5-6 hours and am a rank 7. I haven't been able to see the previous levels, but to get to level 8 is 39,000 points and not 500,000 like was shown in the pics. Also, from the Award Progression screen I noticed some interesting things. There are claymores, laser designators, and radio beacons as there are medals for them.

  • Juddernawt:The weapons I see so far are this: Assault: Ak-74M, M16A4, G3 Engineer: M4A1, G36C Support: M27 IAR (seems like a **** beast since I get wiped out quick with it), RPK, M-249 Recon: MK11, SVD, SV98 General: MP443, M9, M1911, Glock 17, M1014, MP-7, M-416, Pecheneg

  • Juddernawt:You can press F to do the quick knife. It will just swipe if you're not right up on someone like in BC2. I haven't killed anyone with just the swipe. I've noticed that with both quick knifing or wielding it you will get the animation if you're behind them.

  • Juddernawt:I also love the new revive method. It doesn't take long for them to do it, but it allows you to look around with your pistol and hold e to respawn or space to get up. If you get shot again before you decide, obviously you die for good and have to respawn, unless you're revived again. Yes, once you die you're just laying there. When someone attempts to revive you, you're still laying down but you have a pistol out and can look around to see if you want to accept it. If you get killed while you're waiting to decide, it doesn't count as a death.

  • tom1226:Didn't see anyone put this, but in a couple of instances (first noticed it in MCOM Defuse video) where players are shot in close proximity to a wall/floor a blood spatter is left on the surface.

  • Ringo45:Revivestake ~3-4 seconds, with 3 pulses from the defib paddles. Revives are not instantaneous, which will make competitive gamers happy (because of medic whoring problems in BC2). This, coupled with the option to choose to be revived, should elongate this process.

In the M-COM defuse video, the player is on the Russian team but American radio voice-overs are used. Turns out they're just placeholders.

I like that they've correctly portrayed the AK sights. When you look through the sights of an AK in MoH and BC2:Vietnam, they angled the weapon down so that the rear sight is below the front sight, which makes it more open. This looked to tacky for me.

Yeah this. But it's a pity that Armageddon sucked so much. Don't know why it fully ditched Guereilla's gameplay

I'm sure it'll be its own game. It just has to borrow some features from the popular COD, so it can better compete. Platforming and killcam are awesome features, actually. I'm so happy they are being added.

Vehicles and Destruction 3.0 will be the features that separate it. Then you could say, "But Bad Company 2 had vechiles and destruction", in which you would be totally right :P. It's just beefed up and refined in BF3.

Again, like I said before. I hope no one expects a huge leap in gameplay design akin to the huge graphical leap. Aint happenin. But at the same time, it'll be good enough for me.

Don't get me wrong, I loved BC and BC2, but I can clearly see from the videos that it's not going to be a massive BF2 successor but more of a fine BC sequel. I guess there is allways Red Orchestra 2 (hopefully).

What would make it a BF2 successor? Commander? lol. No destruction? Enemy spotted spam? No Rush mode? Worse gunplay? Nade spam? Useless classes?

I not too sure about the lighting used in this game. It has that wierd dark tint that vanquish used, makes eveything look wierd.

I only noticed that in the PS3 footage. The PC footage seems very much better in that area (correct color that is.)
