From VGchartz News

The Legend of Zelda Wii, will be released on 2010 according to Nintendo.

Remember to always take this with a grain of salt, the list of leaked details:

  • The game will be vary from the dungeon field dungeon method we are accustomed too (nothing new, Eiji Aonuma confirmed that last year).
  • You will be able to select right or left handed at the start, and Link will be left or right handed based on your selection
  • The gameplay and basic mechanics are complete.
  • They are currently polishing up the story and Characters.
  • One of the characters they are working on is a innkeeper in Link's home village who has a son that looks up to Link.
  • The girl in the art is not the Master Sword, and it appears the Master Sword will not be in the game.
  • The girls name from the painting could possibly be Adelle, Adella, or Aderu.
  • She is not with you throughout the game like Ezlo and Midna.
  • The face in the painting of her is not her real face. It's not fully elaborated on much, but it does say that it was a place holder concept art piece.(assuming the entire art itself was just concept work)
  • Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities. Adelle (or whatever her final name becomes) communicates with you through this sword.
  • There will be horseback combat. Epona will avoid obstacles automatically.
  • The models for 3 significant characters in the game have been touched up, but no they are not Zelda or Ganondorf. (google translate gives rough names of Link, Gorons, and Epona, but our translator said it's not specifically mentioned)
  • The idea of this version of Link also being The Hero of Time has been highly considered, and may already be implemented.
  • Time travel plays a roll in the game.
  • The game takes place in more then just Hyrule, and may possibly not be Hyrule at all.

I don't know about this one it sounds like it will suck to me. If they wanna make another huge hit Zelda game IMO they should go back to a retro style setup, like You fight on the field and find dungeons and gather the pieces of the Triforce. Having new abilities and so forth, when it was like that it was the best.

The farther they stray from the now-archaic OoT, the better. Keep the dungeon crawling, but improve upon the concept, instead of simply touching it up like in twilight princess. TP could have been made on the N64 (game-play wise, not graphically, obviously).

If all of that is true (which I doubt...), then awesome. It sounds like a very by the books Zelda at the core with a lot of new touching up. Just what it needs.

"Popular Japanese message board, 2chan, added today some leaked Information about Link's Next Adventure...."

Would've stopped reading there if I hadn't read it on this thread.

I think it isn't that bad when Zelda doesn't come out in 2010, the Wii has enough good games in 2010.

Not entirely true, Nintendo stuff usually gets semi-leaked a day or 2 before E3. Last year NSMBW was leaked, Animal crossing and Wii music the year before and Mario Kart the year before that. Not much but i'd still classify them as leaks.

Wrong. Twilight Princess is simply too huge of a game to fit on an N64 cartridge. Hyrule Field alone is like three times the OoT Hyrule Field. Not to mention that boss battles are longer and far more epic.

Heh heh... yeah. Unfortunately, this is most likely just more fan speculation and wishful thinking.

Not really. The majority of data on an actual game cartridge is textures and sounds. Don't forget that with reduced texture quality (which the n64 would require), and some slight adjustments, Twilight princess's gameplay could easily be ported. I see nothing in that game that requires next generation technology.

Well thats a really silly thing to say. You can say that about every game. Whats so next gen about Gears of War's mechanics? Killzone? Heck even Uncharted 2.

Your forgetting so many things like A.I, scope motion capturing etc.

Scope and motion captruing i agree with, but zeldas AI has pretty much always been the same.

The physics and AI of those games requires a more powerful processor than what was available in the N64. Twilight princess doesn't do anything I didn't see in Majora's Mask. This is not to say that TP isn;t one of my favorite games ever, because I love it to death. I just feel it should be the final OoT-type zelda. We've already had OoT, MM, WW, and TP. time to spice it up!
