A copy of what game exactly? AT3 was one of the most requested game from NIS ever since it was annouced for Japan on the NISA fourms, lots of people will get it, im excited to be honest seeing how much i enjoyed the second one

Dont know about you guys but for me i havent been Disappointed by any JRPG this gen, i enjoyed Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3, FFXIII, WKC and soon i'll start with Resonance of Fate.. cant wait for Atelier rorona and Ar Tonelico :)

I agree that all of finalstar's threads seemed to feature games with very similar stock anime art **** and I'm fully aware that there are some unique anime art **** out there.

Looks like I'll have to get this one for sure. The first AT was kind of boring so I stopped playing. I haven't even started the 2nd one yet, but apparently the 3rd one is pretty solid. I'm looking forward to its release.

Isn't Atelier Rorona coming over as well? Has it been officially announced? I also hope that Neptune game eventually makes its way over here after it releases in Japan.

Yup NISA confirmed Atelier Rorona to be coming this Fall, we'll hear more info about it after they release Trinity Universe end of next month June. Im positive Neptune will make it here as seeing how people have already requested it on the NISA fourms and i gotta say that thread is getting bigger and bigger everyday. NISA sure is getting busy lastely :P which is good, the mroe games they get the better!

As for Neptune, yeah, want it badly. I'd buy it over here in Japan, but it looks like it might release just after I leave here for good. Like literally a few days. I could order it and just have my friend send it to me though. I already ordered Atelier Torori or whatever its called. Wanted to grab a few import games before I finally leave Japan forever, haha.

Another generic jrpg :roll: this gen wrpg's have made jrpg's look so bad it stopped being funny 4 years ago :( (that said I have yet to play Demon Souls which I hear is amazing, nobody I know owns it and it seems to be hard to get here in the uk).

Totally! i played all the Iris series on PS2 and enjoyed all of the 3 games. i have Ar Tonelico 1 but wasnt able to finish it till the end while i played and beat Ar Tonelico 2! AT2 was miles better than AT1. i have high hopes for AT3 and Atelier Rorona

Never heard of it. I have way too many other JRPG & WRPG to play to really care about this game. It would have to be just as good if not better then games like Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles for me to even take a peek.

Ah Atelier Totori.. i want it badly :P, the screens and the trailers look amazing, i think NIS are finally trying to upgrade their games to make it more of a real PS3 title. tho i know what you mean i would totally do the same thing if it was me :P even if i cant understand the language, i like supporting companies like NIS, imo they ahve great games but i most certinly dont want games like Last Rebillion :P

1. The main storyline in Disgaea is easily played through without powerleveling. I haven't played any other games by NIS that encourage grinding in any way.

2. This is 100% opinion. I happen to enjoy their art styIe. My only complaint is that I wish they'd splurge a little to make animated cutscenes, instead of doing the whole cardboard cutout thing.

3. Uh... what? I think you're thinking of a different company... maybe Bioware.

4. The writing is intentionally campy/cheesy. If you don't enjoy it, that's fine, but that doesn't make it suck by any means.

5. Gameplay > Graphics.

6. Admittedly, they need to stretch their legs and get outside of the same fan service universes they've been using for years. But it works for them, and even if it's repetitive, it still sells, and it's still entertaining. And I bet you also hate Bayonetta, because there was sex appeal, too, right?

What it boils down to is you hate JRPGs and anime. Since that's the case, your opinions on NIS are easily dismissed as invalid.

1. Seriously? All you do is grind in the Item World to level up. There's no way you got through the story by plowing through the chapters without grinding at all in Disgaea. There's just no way unless you're some master glitcher.

2. Everything is opinion, dude. The point is that they all have the same art-style that looks like a poor man's Gurren Lagann.

3. Not at all. Prove me wrong.

4. Okay, regardless if it's intentional or not it can still suck. Maybe a game like Gears of War is intentional or not, doesn' mean the writing, characters, and story suck.

5. That's nice and all but it had nothing to do with what we were talking about lol. The graphics are still marginally lower than someone like...Square-Enix or even Atlus. I will admit that Disgaea 3 is somewhat better, but they still need work.

6. Bayonetta is one of my favourite games this gen and the sex appeal is funny and I don't even notice it when playing since it's so fast. The way Bayonetta pulls it off is tongue and cheek, NIS stuff isn't.

Also, stop with assuming stuff and random ad hominems please. JRPGs and Anime are some of my favourite past-times and I'm sure I'm just as qualified to state my opinion as anyone else in this thread.

Is there a way to keep the characters' clothes on but get the same effects? o.o

Yup i found it it was on IGN and won Best PS2 game of 2009 Ar Tonelico 2

The problem with NIS/Gust titles isn't that they are bad, but rather just sometimes too simple and basic. They don't really do anything special that makes them stand apart from other RPGs. I like the Mana Khemia series (synthesizing items can be addictive), but again, it's not anything groundbreaking. Simple, turn-based battles, fairly weak stories, and sometimes just an outdated feel to them.

This is my experience at least after playing a good amount of Atelier Iris and Ar Tonelico, and the two Mana Khemia games. Hopefully AT3 will seem newer due to its graduation onto the PS3.
