The art style is super pretty, the game looks great. I can't believe this will make 2015, though.

World looks kind of empty and bland - from what they've shown, that is.

Shitty presentation, but the game is absolutely gorgeous.

An open world Zelda is the best thing they could have thought of to maintain momentum for the franchise.

Amazing year ahead for Wii U.

Color me interested. I like that large world map, I like the sense of exploration (even if it looked a bit barren). The last thing I want is every nook and cranny to have monsters bugging me; a sense of "emptiness" is what makes exploration a relaxing part of the adventure, like the Great Sea in Wind Waker.

Of course, what makes or breaks the game is the dungeons. I want to know if they truly learned from Link Between Worlds and will have a similar system in this game.

Yeah, that was pretty disappointing. It looks like they rushed the reveal though so I'll wait for the next time they show it to say anything. I hope the world isn't actually that empty.

Yeah because mountains and forests should be over-run with movement.

Basically this.

Ever gone for a stroll in a forest? You're more likely to run into nothing and just hear smaller animals run away when they sense you. Consider the real world equivalent of monsters to be larger wild animals like deer or bears and the odds of running into them are much smaller. So there's nothing inherently wrong with a sparsely populated countryside.

They showed a big open world (which was the whole point of this demo), good animations for Epona (did you see her hair?) and link.

Oh wow, riding a horse and bullet time, so amazing and fresh.

I'm not looking to be sold, I always buy Zelda, but that was 4 minutes of worthlessness.

Nintendo is so stuck in the past. I am not going to flip out about a big but bland and empty open world. I also find it seriously difficult to get into a game presentation when the shit you are showing OFF SCREEN! I seriously don't understand WHY they thought that was a good idea.

Also I know Nintendo is a Japanese company and all, but their scripting for presentations like this is below those shitty old school PSA's. They seriously need to learn how to do a proper game presentation..

Maybe because it was a demo and not a trailer and maybe because the game is still early in development and still has at least 10 months of development time.

Link Between Worlds allowed for quick travel, I am assuming they will bring that mechanic over to this game as well.

This looked very good but i don't believe it was running on a WiiU. Look at the amount of grass and the draw distance of it, its higher than anything on ps4 or X1 (games like DA:I for example). Probably running on a pc with a target video of what the game 'may' look on WiiU (artistically, not technically).

It will most likely have a transporter just like they did with TP and WW.

@charizard1605: we have seen a lot of that with the Bone last year. just look at the amount of grass in that video, no last gen games had this much (especially in open world games, the most demanding ones) and even less so when it comes to the draw distance of it, hell, no next gen games (on consoles) have this much. So what's up with that? Open world games are cpu hungry and cpu is what's sucking (just like ps4/x1) on the WiiU, draw distance is the first thing i'd expect to be scaled down but it isn't in this video, shit had as much as DA:I vegetation quality set to ultra.

Okay, but this is an open set with the Wii U console kept right there, in sight, running, and them playing on its controller- not like last year, where the consoles were hidden out of sight and you were just given an Xbox One controller.

I get what you are saying, but this is the advantage of having your own hardware to work with, you know it like no one else does, you can do things with it that others couldn't. The Wii U may not be the world's most powerful system, but it's not 2005 Xbox 360 era either, it's 2GB of RAM with a GPGPU that's probably offletting some of the excessive processing power that the CPU can't handle.

I agree. I can appreciate what Nintendo is attempting to do with their presentations, but they once again demonstrate that they have no clue (or seem to care) that there are drastic cultural differences in how marketing appeals across different regions. Everything is ultra Japanese and reeks of corporate dullness. They need to allow for the international branches to invest and hire some people (not developers) that know how to convey and generate excitement. For a company that makes amazing games, Nintendo does an amazing job of making them seem incredibly boring when they show them.

As for Zelda, looking great if a little empty and samey environmental wise. Nothing phenomenal that blows me out of my seat yet but it looks like it'll turn out to be pretty decent. I do have to hand it to Ninty, aside from them continuing to play it extremely safe, they've picked up the ball they fumbled and have made lemonade out of a lemon with the U. It's good to see, and they deserve credit for it. I just hope lessons have been learnt so next gen they can really knock things out of the park.

.... sigh. Offscreen, no game music to set the vibe. Aside from that, not a very interesting showing anyways.

Shit presentation.

Still my 2nd most anticipated game though, looks like it's shaping up well. Just been wanting to see more and I wasn't betting on such a disappointing showing.

Yeah, true enough. I didn't think we'd see this again until E3. Just clicked on SW, saw the topic and was like **** YES! Then meh.

Better than nothing though, can't wait to see a real deal presentation on the game. My only true concern at this point is how empty it looked, hopefully that won't be the case.
