The world was a bit empty for a Zelda game. But that may just be because it's largely incomplete. Plus we have yet to see the towns, NPCs, and dungeons. So I wont judge just yet.

Well I can't really hate it but are we really just gonna ignore that one of the new features is being able to ride through forests without steering? Hadn't this been such a popular franchise, this would've been ripped apart and branded as total casualization. It just seems like it could make travel more dull if you don't have to worry about collision.
Because Epona is a horse, not a motorcycle.
Not to mention, this means Nintendo could add some interesting mechanics to the mounted system. Epona panicking or disobedience could be programmed in.
I really like what I'm seeing from the game & hearing from the team so far... Looks very cool. Might even make me buy a Wii U finally...

This was the best thing to come out of the video. This allows you to actually do archery while on horseback. It actually makes a lot of sense that a horse tilts its direction a little based on what's in front of it. As they said in the video, horses don't just run into a tree.

Have you played Mount&Blade: Warband?
If so, did you play as a horse archer?
If the answer to both is yes, you probably remember dying a few times, because your horse ran right into a tree, and some knight that was chasing you, struck you with a coughed lance, instantly killing you. That shit happened to me several times, so seeing these news was such good news to me :)
lol i love when miyamoto says "what a dense forest" and the trees are all spread apart. honestly the open world looks pretty barren but i'm sure the final product will be solid.

I mean, that's what a dense forest is like, in real life...
@charizard1605: forests in real life are hard to walk through. There are fallen trees, uneven terrain, burrows, etc. The forests in that game look like a tree farm
Wow Nintendo fans are falling for this again. After Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword I am very hesitant about falling for any hype. The world still seems empty despite being bigger and prettier. Awful motion aiming, looks like they haven't learned from how terrible the motion controls in Skyward and Twilight was.
It looks like a prettier Skyward Sword, I will wait until they show more, but right now I am underwhelmed.
You can turn that off.

I'm always questionable when it comes to interpreting languages. For example, maybe in Japan there are different versions of "density".
Why the hate guys? That map alone shows you that this game is going to be so much better than Skyward Sword.
Thank God there is finally a Zelda without motion controls
Motion controls at 2:40. Oh wait, you were being sarcastic. Never mind, then.
Some people were doing calculations and guesstimates based on map location and landmarks and its been estimated that you could cross the map in over an hour... on horseback. How long could it be on foot?
@GunSmith1_basic: True enough, but I wouldn't consider that a forest. It looks a lot more like a field with freestanding trees.

I don't even think the full zoom out was the whole map. If you notice, the bottom and right sides( i believe) are framed in black signifying the edge of the map, while the top and left are not framed.

You can turn it OFF!

That's good. Motion controls are awful.

Even if you couldn't, I don't mind a little. But I couldn't play Skyward because of that waggle shit. Got sick of it, fast.
@xWoW_Rougex:
Its optional. Or do you consider sitting in the passanger seat in Gta also casualization?
Plus SotC also did the semi auto pilot horse controls and was a better game for doing it
Yes, this is awesome, so many excellent games for WiiU next year, i mean Zelda will be around in November i assume, but meanwhile we will have Star Fox, Mario Maker and Xeno X...damn!!!
Game looks real good, I just get tired of killing Gannon over and over and over. I hope this one is different.
Make a comparison to Shadow of the Colossus horse animations, because Epona and Argo seem to move very identical
This game and MGSV, all I need for next year. And next year is fucking stacked. If all of these slated-for-2015 titles make it (and if half of them live up to the hype), it'll go down as one of the best years in gaming.
Zelda and Starfox next year... which means Metroid the following year? I'm greedy... it would've been amazing to have all 3 next year.
Looks like shadow of the colossus rip off. Even getting the fruit. Sotc remains an inspiration to developers even 9 years after release.
It looks good but nothing that would make me say wow. Huge bosses to fight would be nice and what do we do in this big empty world?
People getting fruit off trees since Adam and Eve...Man Nintendo owes them some royalties for stealing that idea.
It is most amusing to me how great the Wii U is turning out to be. I have 16 games on it and plenty more to get next year. Splatoon, Xenoblade X, Zelda, Mario Maker, Starfox, Kirby, and Yoshi so far that that is just what is announced. Well played Nintendo Well played.
